There's a poll on this bb and thus far it's getting rave reviews. The paint job seems to be the most controversial aspect but if that was a dark blue (like Jousts car) with silver it would be striking. I reckon they picked neutral colours to appeal to the most people. They'll make it any colour you like and the interior trim could easily be changed. I like the t56 gearbox as well. Later on I'm sure they will do the forced induction thing.

well it seems that damian mctaggart has shot himself in the foot,

that car is a rip off of a TVR T350, Speed 12 (the origional) and a bit of Tamora, and shows that he does not have a creative bone in his body. I think he could of done with the TVR boys. the car is even worse in the flesh, A interior fron the 1920`s, doors that sound like rusty old gates, a mish mash of TVRs done in a real bad way, and they must be taking the p*** asking 40k for it, what a joke, i cant stop laughing!!!

The boys at TVR that he left behind must be cracking them selfs up at that joke of a car!

sorry i think ats a pile of crud!

Cobblers !

its fantastic.

And preferable to any current TVR as it has a proper V8 and is built properly without glue stains all over the interior.

No contest.

TVR will soon be very embarrassed at the wrong direction they have taken.

Its grille reminds me of the modified yellow Griffith fitted with a Speedsix which was supposed to be the first Tuscan Speedsix a few years ago. Except that one is definitely uglier with its fat and ugly butt.

The front is pretty ugly, but if they sort that out (OK maybe it's just me) it's going to attact some V8 addicts from TVRs. Not in TVRs league for aesthetics, but it has a V8 and promising chassis pedigree if looks are lower on your list.

Apart from the extremely dubious gills on the side, the car says "updated Chimaera" to me - which is just what I'll be looking for in a few years time.

Well there's no accounting for taste, or in the case of the majority of respondents on this thread a complete and utter catastrophic failure of their visual and mental senses.
The Marcos is, IMVHO, absolutely awful looking, it has all of the worst traits of a very poor kit car, that dash panel is an afterthought, the windscreen surround is far from elegant whilst proportionally the car appears to be a collection of random bits intended for a number of other similarly ill conceived vehicles.
As for the side panel treatment yeah that's classy.........not.
To liken it to any TVR is insulting to the marque, to call it the update of the Chimaera is ludicrous. Just because it has a V8 does not make it a good car. The photos may not do it justice but come on guys that is one UGLY motor.

Have we got a touch of the emperor's new clothes syndrome going on here on PH, this car is not nice IT SUCKS!

But hey this is only my opinion, so who cares

So presumably everyone who disagrees with you is entitled to their opinion so long as they realise that they are wrong?

Gotta admit that the TSO has caugt my attention.

I've had a deposit for a Noble GTC down sicve the prototype was unveiled at the NEC in 2002 BUT with the spec now showing it lacking the performance of my current GTO i'm considrering other options. With ProDrive on board i shouldn't be sacrificing handling for power, so could fit the bill very nicely

and Joust i'm not stalking you honest

This is what TVR should be doing!!!!

Instead of spending their time inventing silly names and quirks-not-WORKS features into their range they should have been looking carefully at their mistakes and producing something people WANT.

This car appeals enough to start pulling in the new punters from TVR whilst leaving a few "nods" to the Marcos history to allow some heritage to stay.

It's a fantastic car and one I'd love to own... or at least test drive to see if it lives up to the looks.

As a new chapter in Marcos's book it's giving us a hint of a very exciting future and maybe some serious reconsideration for those of us dissatisfied enough with TVR and their cheese-6 to look elsewhere.

Errr.... wake up, you really must stop deluding yourself that Marcos have done anything worthwile (ever), do you really think that this abomination is what customers WANT and that TVR should be doing the same!
There is no comparison with the superb and radical design of the TVR range, even with the odd speed six problem, when you only build one model like Marcos then you could expect something a little better than this monstrosity.
If you want to join the exciting future that you think you'll find at Marcos then I for one wish you well, I will be interested to read of your ongoing love affair.

"yellabelly", funny how you exol the virtues of modern TVR's but only have an 'S' and a Rover 620i. Not sure how the Rover gives you credibility to talk about styling and appeal....

Do we take it from that you don't like the new TVRs, or is it a financial limitation to you moving to a newer TVR?

Is the reason you don't seem to like the Marcos also financial related, in that you don't have the fourty odd thousand required to buy one?

It would help to know to put some perspective on your comments.

Yours intrigued,

J

It shows it must be a good car just to have been able to rock the TVR boat this much

Makes me want one even more
I really hope it goes well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't there been loads of comments, especially from TVR owners, along the lines of 'this is what we've been waiting for', 'finally a car with a proper V8', 'this good be the replacement for my Chimera', 'looks fantastic'?
It could be me, I could be reading these pages and pages of comments incorrectly and have got everything the wrong way around....

Don't speak on behalf of the masses when they've already spoken.

5 litre 440 hp 2001 Mantis . . . the contrast with the new civilised to-toned small bloke gentleman is rather huge . . .

I would think Marcos would make a Tuscan / Cerby beater and develop the Mantis if wanted to step into Blackpool territory. But they did not. They came up with this nice and true UK sports. Skip the engine ladds and make that a nice creamy 4 litre V8 425 @ 8500
