Your bump has reminded me as to the madness if this. Just been watching the webcam again and seeing the determination some have in securing their perfect crossing photo irrespective of the traffic around them!
Irrespective of the fact that it isn't the crossing from the album cover...

I live not far from there and they're a law unto themselves... basic law means I can't move when they are on the crossing, but with a few cars behind me nothing stops me from using the horn, etc after we are stuck there for more than 30s

Googled this, and some Beatles fans seem to disagree!

It never ceases to amaze me on how far reaching an album can be.

it must be incredibly frustrating if you live locally and have to use that road daily or if you're a bus driver passing the crossing several times a day. so many idiots just standing in the middle of the road where you do a left turn

Just watched some camera waving throbber block the road for an age, only to boot the side of a car when the driver said something as he [finally] pulled away.

Couldn't watch it for too long - too annoying.

I agree, more planks than a pirates' convention.

I think if I were kept waiting there several times a day, eventually my foot might go to sleep and slip off the brake onto the accelerator.

It’s a pain in the arse. I bus it to work everyday past there and have fallen down the stairs a few times when the drivers had to slam on the brakes because some bell ends run across the road and stand still for a few photos furious

Sorry, I’ve deleted my post, don’t think it is and it was some highlights recording or something

Sorry to bring back an ancient thread, but was reminded of this the other day and started watching it again - link is now https://www.abbeyroad.com/crossing

This afternoon there has been a police van parked on the crossing for some time and an ambulance has just turned up, but I didn't see what has caused them to be there - did anyone else see?

Perhaps Evangelion's foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator? biggrin

An interesting watch at various times of the day. Weekends and late afternoons are best.

https://www.earthcam.com/world/england/london/abbe...

I was going to start a new thread, when I realised this was already up and running.

I may refresh it from time to time if it flags.

Those people who cross from left to right and go straight ahead - where are they going?*

For those not familiar with the area - ahead is roughly South, behind us is North(ish). The turning to the left leads toward St John's Wood Tube Station and Lord's Cricket Ground. If I am wrong, I am sure I will be corrected.

Note to self. I mustn't get obsessed.

The quality of the camera is brilliant, any idea of the make and model? It blows thr Neos camera I have out of the water for picture quality and movement.

May well have been mentioned earlier in the thread but it's surprising how many pedestrians (when just crossing normally) don't raise a hand or nod thanks to the drivers stopping for them.

What an Ill mannered set of bds.

Equally, your post highlights the immense sense of entitlement of many drivers, who feel they should be thanked for following the law.
