That got someone a lengthy ban, IIRC. 'T was inordinately amusing up until that point, however.

I went on an evening welding course once so as I could repair my old pos cars.

Bless him, Dean the teacher couldn't understand why me and a mate were crying with laughter at "butt welds are the easiest but, you need to penetrate the butt all the way".

Unbelievably this commercial is airing in the US at the moment and is genuine:

I can't help but snigger every time I watch this.

Very funny, but that isn't real.
Given I live in Atlanta, GA, I have to say this is very real and is broadcast on national cable....

No joke, it's unbelievable it's on air.

Does "pull one off" mean the same thing in the States as it does here?

Having spent most of the day poring over a map of San Francisco, 2 districts caught my attention:

Nob Hill ( hehe )
Tender Nob ( rofl )

The name of this local company always makes me snigger; I thought you only got splashback if your aim wasn't quite right when using a urinal!

Blast from the past, but when I was a young lad at school learning how to read Ordnance Survey maps in Geography, it always used to make us giggle that there was a Sewerage Works at Pant Y Dwn on one map.

Nerdy railway response!

Might be getting delivered to its operator. Don't forget you can't just bang any old train on the tracks and run it up and down the country. The kinematic envelope of the train might be too big for some tunnels/bridges, it might not go into some platforms, or start tearing down overhead lines, or struggle going up some inclines or braking down them. They have to be trialled and approved for any route they run on, so it's just easier to take it by road to the area it will be operating.

smile
Kinematic envelope? Do you mean the size? laugh
