I have researched this. The Ferkinghoffs once were proud manufacturers of Bavarian made tailored jackets and suits in Bad Brückenau. In 2011, they had to file for insolvency as they wouldn't want to move manufacturing to low-cost countries. I think with the makers label, she might be trying to tell me something!
Today, Friederike Ferkinghoff and her husband Bernhard Fick ferked hoff their business to trading with men's garments made in the region - that's why you still can have a new Ferkinghoff today. The linked article states that their collection is not popular for it's name or the purpose of getaway gear; it's that they offer over-sizes up to 6XL.
