That's the Lloyd's Building.

This is Tower 42 (formally known as Natwest Tower).

I'll reserve judgement on that until it has been finished biggrin

However on a sheer scale of the place, and sheer over-the-top-ness, this place always impresses

I have to agree with this, when I visited last year I was in absolute awe of it truly stunning and intimidating.

On a similar note, every time I visit this place it makes me go WOW, you just feel so insignificant when you are near / in it!

Edit. Sorry, Pantheon, Rome as someone spotted but it is Roman concrete.

Rest of it is amazing as well.

I have to say, no matter how many times i have been, I find the roof and central Great Court of the British Museum captivating:

Something about the patterns and geometery of it. Also the contrast of walking out from between the big dark imposing stone entry archways and out into the white & light of the courtyard is a real shock.

(I also have a suspicion they play a low level of "white noise" through the PA system to fool the brain into thinking the courtyard is bigger than it really is, effectively by damping out the usual echo's that help us determine the size of things)
