Can you start the rest of a sentence after a comma with 'and'?
Just reading a book with an awkwardly worded sentence, OH says you can, but i'm not so sure. I know you can't start a sentence with And after a full stop.
Of course you can, and tell your OH how much cleverer than you she is.

It's a mutation of the apostrophe virus which has been around for quite a few years.

Am I missing something? What is wrong with 'the book has been read...'
That's why books are written, isn't it? So they will be read.

Precisely. So what's the point in selling it as used and making that comment. It is usually a non sequitur. Except of course you find books being sold as collectors' items that have never been opened of course.

Thats a nice shaped pool to be made into a natural looking fish pond, shove a bit of soil on the bottom & throw a few pots of plants and lilies in then get a few very expensive Coy and it would look great.

HaHa. It must be odd in the tropics. It is if you're used to more temperate climbs, as you associate hot weather with long light evenings where the sun sets slowly. Then you go somewhere like Singapore at it goes from day to night in about 15 minutes at 7pm every day and you wonder what to do with your evening.

What's that got to do with spelling? Surely that's for the annoy thread.
