Got a French friend who's into classic rock and going to London soon. He asked if I could recommend any good record shops for this kind of thing. Any ideas?

Could a Moderator possibly move this to the Lounge to get more exposure as it's more of a shop question than a music one really. Thanks smile

Yep, thirded on Sister Ray.

There used to be two cracking little shops in Hanway Street opposite the Dominion in Tottenham Court Road, but I'd imagine they've long since gone. frown

Remember hearing The Gift by the Velvet Underground in one of them in the early '80s and being blown away by it.

What exactly is 'Classic Rock' these days?

The new Rush album is being released via Classic Rock Magazine, but as a now 44 year old they wouldn't have initially sprung to my mind as 'classic rock - I suppose mainly due to me still being locked in my school days time warp. biggrin

Do I really have to let go and start calling all my 80's favs 'classic rock'????

Blimey, thanks for all the info chaps, looks like he's going to be busy all weekend!

Should have mentioned by "classic" I meant 60s and 70s. Cheers for the heads up for the Rush album BTW, I've got Snakes and Arrows but didn't know they had another coming out already.
