Listen, I don't believe in telepathy or any of that nonsense, and I don't know anything about Audi paint colours, but I have the strangest sense of a young Surrey man screaming "SANTORIN BLUE, SANTORIN BLUE".

Wuff, how do you do this?

Freaky deaky.

BVD, may I recommend phoning a driving instructor and asking for a very unofficial assessment?

You could get feedback on your driving and an honest professional answer to the "am I still safe to drive" question. Make it an unofficial thing, maybe a cash job so that it's clear that it's for you only and not to be taken any further.

Audi S4 Avant Quattro (V6 Bi Turbo), 160k, FASH, two owners, MOT Dec, Tax Feb 13.
£1200 eek

Man points for me.

One wonders if it's a scam or he made a mistake.
We will see, I have emailed him and done a quick search via google and he is real, I know where he works and where he lives.
Nice! Is it a Manual or Tiprtonic? Spec? Looks like Santorin Blue which is really nice and deep. Winter runabout bought early?

Ps. You never explained the StancE-Class...

Nice purchase GTIR - hope you got a good one on the S4, my best mate had one and the cost to keep it on the road at over 120k miles were eyewatering in parts alone.

With all due respect, that's the answer to a different question.

How so?

Feedback on current driving styles, with ways to improve. Surely that's covering the issue?

S4 update: Well the wife called me and I am going to see it at lunchtime. She said they have been inundated with emails asking if it's been sold as they sold it too cheap!

I just did a HPI check and apart from an alert about number plates being changed it said:
Plate Transfer

The current plate was transferred to this vehicle on 16/07/2002
XXXXX0 was applied to this vehicle on 17/05/2002
There are no interests recorded against XXXXX0
XXXXX1 was applied to this vehicle on 17/12/2001
There are no interests recorded against XXXXX1 (current plate)
XXXXX2 was applied to this vehicle on 02/01/1999
This VRM has been recorded as having an outstanding finance agreement
An outstanding finance agreement was recorded on 19/08/2011 against a X3

Does that mean the plate the cars now on is a BMW X3 and has outstanding finance?
It looks like they have changed plates again because "XXXXX1" is the one that's on it?

Reading that I was ould assume that it was originally registered on a private plate of XXXXX2 then was given XXXXX1 when they took that with them. A different private plate of XXXXX0 was then on it for all of two months before it got XXXXX1 back, was XXXXX1 the plate you checked presumably?

Sounds fine. The HPI check I did had the phone number and finance agreement number for me to call when I bought the mx5.

If that isn't there, then I suggest that the finance isn't oustanding on this car/plate, hence, they haven't given you the details.

Morning all.

BVD, don't fret over this... and fretting over 'the end', which I suspect is the bigger shake up is only going to draw that though into the forefront of your mind more than it really needs to be. We all make mistakes and we have all had our near miss stories, but really, don't link your's to the greater parts of your life, it's not neccessary, or helpful.

More rain. When will summer arrive. Got a garage to start sorting.

yes

Mine was fairly astronomical to keep on the road, too.

weeping at yours... want mine back!

They're crazy cheap for the amount of car you get, aren't they, although yours seems... cheaper... scratchchin Good luck!

Mine was fairly cheap, turns out it was for a reason. An "unknown by seller" reason. rolleyes

If you need any advice/tips, my OH is now intimately acquainted with under the bonnet of the B5 S4! laugh

Nice. One thing to note, check the volume control on the stereo if it's a 'CONCERT' system, they can develope a mind of their own and try to deafen you with the slightest touch. I can't remember right now why, but I'll ask when I get home.

Also check the footwells for damp, and under the scuttle along the bottom ofte windscreen. This clogs with leaves and mulch and blocks the drainage, water fills lie a bath and slops down the interior air filter...

Door seals might become sticky and make the door a little tough to pull open after a while of inaction. That'll just be aging seals, soak with silicone spray and moisten them up a bit.

Pixels die on the DIS screen (between the speedo/rev counter, generally means a new screen if you can't live with it. Can change yourself if handy with a soldering iron, but generally not particularly painful.

Typing on the phone whilst walking the dog, if I remember anything else I'll sling it up when I get home.

I've had IAM training but it's near impossible to get to now - they want you there at the crack of dawn Sunday morning and I just can't do that. (Nursing logistics).

I don't know how to work out if my reactions have slowed down (or indeed if they're only unacceptably slow when tired, and if so how tired)...

An ok, around here they're really accommodating.

The reaction thing, ps3... Times laps at various times of day?
