Gah, my Sonos Bridge now qualifies as frivolous....
Why?
As of yesterday's software update they're no longer required
As I've alluded to in the Sonos thread I think its in part a cynical ploy to increase sales of the Sonos boost which will be introduced in October. I'm going to update but stick with the bridge, once I've deduced that via wifi the Sonos components are sucking the life out of my available wifi bandwidth.

Speaking of valves, I picked up one of these a while ago for next to nothing:

The guy selling it had pulled it out of his Jap import and seemed to be under the impression it didn't work but it turned out to just needed a £10 band expander as it was intended for JDM.

I've never got round to fitting it but it's just too cool to get rid of.
how much do they normally go for? that is the coolest in car player i have ever seen. much want!
oh yes indeedy, that is lovely!

I think they were around £1000 new but they've been out of production for a while now. There are usually a couple for sale in other countries on eBay for around the £400 mark.

Have been tempted in the past and still am to buy a robot vacuum.

Just to add, watching the video teaser, not much going on in it, you can select 4K resolution. hmm.

Alright thread, you are responsible!!

Ive got it quickly working via BT (the throw function on my Xperia Z2 works neatly), the sound quality is really super nice yes

I wouldnt at the suggested RRP, but for what I paid, 'tis a no-brainer smile
I have the same, I paid £400 for it at John Lewis, mind if I ask how much they are now? I got mine about 6 months ago.

Almost got the Zeppelin air, but it was an awkward shape and size to fit into my rather cosy living room and this fits perfectly under the TV.

The warm glow is lovely, isn't it? I do find the bass boost useless though - way too boomy.

€299

So £235 give or take smile
Dammit! No wonder you couldn't say no!

If you have a samsung TV newer than mine (the model after mine as it happens, fkers) then you can sync them up somehow...

  • mumbles off complaining about how much he paid*

Dominique Aegerter's gloves. Nope, no idea why.

I have one of his used helmet visor tear offs that I somehow picked up at Le Mans. If you want it to go with the gloves PM me with your address and I will pop it into the post for you.

Technically it's frivolous because I could store my tools in various other containers however this was on offer (£199) and I couldn't resist!

Doesn't really go with the decor.

Probably want to get a big PistonHeads sticker to cover over the Halfords one though. That's what I did when I bought a Halfords roof box years ago. smile

Currently on offer at £350 for the cabinet and chest. If I see it at £300 again I'll buy it.
