I built a garage big enough for one hot rod project and a bunch of tools. It is already full, as we are building a house next to it, and I have a list of 'honey-dos' as long as the Mediterranean, so what do I do?? Go out and buy another car project I didn't need or particularly want....

Now I'm in exactly the same position as when I had a single car garage: stepping over and moving st every time I need to go in there! rage

Bought this set on Saturday as it was a bargain £37.

I'm a sucker for a cut price scalextric car/set/item and have spent a silly amount of money on it.

That said when it comes out for a few weeks it's all worth it biggrin

One day I will get a full time track set up but half the fun is in the build and fettling of the tracks so you get that balance between maximum use of space and technical with some flat out sections.

My first car at 16. A LR defender, 9k I couldnt afford and then 3k for the insurance. I never drove the thing cos I had spent all my money on the car and had non for the insurance. frown

It did about 500 miles with my dad behind the wheel then we sold it.

Complete waste of money, I downgraded to a 1.2 Punto for 6 months after that.

Once you strip down what you ACTUALLY need you can realise how much crap we accumulate in our lives!

Need:
House.
Car: We have my wifes company Mazda 2.
Phone: HTC Desire Z with proper keyboard: does Internet, casual games, Music, videos, Sat Nav, iplayer... everything
Pedal bike: Just one, for getting to the station. If I had a folder I could get on the train with it.
Guitar: For wife. She has a concert guitar, still comfortably more than any car I've ever bought.
Decent lounge Stereo: Music is a big passion, so we have a mix and match NAD/Arcam/Wharfdale Hi-Fi.
Telly, of some sort.

Have:
PS3, XBox, Dell XPS laptop (any lappy would do really), 40" LCD TV which I only use for gaming, then of course 5.1 surround sound and tannoy speakers. Spare laptop. Old defunct Laptop. 2x Work laptops.
Subaru Impreza. Utterly unneccessary, really.
Spare House in France.
4 other guitars. Electro acoustic, classical "practice", Fender Strat, Vietnamese boxwood one bought on travels.
6 bicycles: Mountain bike, Road bike, London bike, commuting bike, Her bike, spare bike.
Baby stuff: Don't get me started. Bouncers, sterilisers, changing tables, cots, 2 prams, baby car seat, more clothes than I've ever owned. Eco nappies, kill the planet nappies, bottle, feeding gear, high chair, low chair, posture chair, blankets, mats, cloths..... He needs, he gets!
Car Audio Gear: thousands worth. Love it. Doesn't depreciate either, but the effort of finding stuff you like, then installing it properly.... It's just effort! I've got more sat here in amplifiers and speakers and subs than I have in my savings account.
Furniture, trinkets, CD's, books.... the list goes on.

WOuldn't be without any of it though. Sold really useless stuff like my G25 (used a few times, actually profited on the sale of it despite buying it new!) and rotate babay stuff in and out on ebay for what we paid.

Last week's purchase was this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Syma-Gyroscope-Stabilizing...

I'm gutted because it's now half price and I could swear I paid more than £20 for it, also bought loads of spare parts for it. Highly recommended to satisfy the inner child and surprisingly agile!

Bought a 250gb Xbox slim a couple of months ago and have accumulated a dozen games since, but have barely played half of them because games consoles bore me. As well as this I've bought an £850 Vaio laptop....used for facebook.

Also in the process of convincing myself that I should swap my sensible perfect-for-my-needs diesel Pug 307 for an Impreza!

Nearly all of this is down to procrastination due to my uni exams!

I bought a boat last year - no sailing experience, never had a sailing boat before. Drove over to the brokers in the morning, and by lunchtime I had a 28ft sailing boat with no idea what to do with it. Have used it 4 times on 12 monthswhistle
Other impulse purchases include a Triumph Bonneville, numerous R/C helicopters and a BMW. At least now all my money is spent on boaty things, I can't buy much more crap!

For me it is fountain pens, watches, good brogues and bikes. I have 6 fountain pens, 3 watches, 3 pairs of brogues, 2 bikes, a spare bike frame and a shed full of assorted bike parts. I have more money tied up in them than my dad has in cars.

I also have a brand new fuselage light fitting from a hawker hunter. I have no idea why.

Coats and Sunglassess have both been weaknessess of mine at various points. At the moment though I've only got twelve coats (that's not counting the one that I left at a client's a couple of months back and havent got round to following up on yet) and I'm down to only three pairs of sunglasses so I think I'm doing better.

Yeah, I forgot about those. 9 pairs of oakleys.

1x black frame black polarized lens five squared

2x matt black ducati black iridium polarized fives squared (lost the first pair)

1x blue/black polarized cant remember the names (lost)

1x straight jacket limited edition blue lens/silver arms with blue flames going down arms from lenses (bought on a whim at about age 15, never worn out)

That is eight, I think I was wrong when I said 9. Plus I don't really have 8 pairs as I have lost a few hehe

I've also realised I've lost a case with a pair in. Cant have gone far though, I haven't taken them out of the house
