I recently got a Smok H-Priv 220W and I'm currently using it with a TFV8 tank and V8-T8 coil.

I'm still learning what the best settings are, but it's a brilliant setup. The V8 coil is a beast and produces a very hot vape, so I'm going to try one of the 4 core coils next.

Anyone have a Smok Brit mini?

Am weighing the Smok Brit mini vs the Smok tfv8 mini...

Also deciding what battery I should get with it .. Don't want something too big...

Thinking about buying either a TFV8 or an RDA for more occasional use (Cleito is still my all dayer and I see no reason to change it) - not sure if I can be bothered with building coils but not sure if I want the cost of a TFV8 (the biggest coils are £5 each!)
Learning to build was the best thing I ever did for my vaping - no way you can get better flavour from a pre-built coil head

Took me 6 months of practice but I can now build perfect dual-fused clapton coils and it is lovelyyy. Even very simple builds are worth it just for the money saving - I've spent about £30 on wire and cotton and I think I've probably got enough for 2/3 years of vaping now

And DIY eliquid, the savings are HUGE and it's great fun making your own juices smile some fantastic recepies online now. Scary when I look back at how much I spent a month on eliquid!!!

I bought the SMOK alien last week, very impressive. Uses quite a bit of liquid but the battery life is awesome, I've not charged it for a week now and used it every day and it's still over 50% charge. That's with approx 4 full tanks out of it.

Well I had a wee splurge the other weekend and managed to walk out the local vape shop with a Kanger Dripbox 160 and an Aspire Cleito 120 and a selection of Ruthless Ejuice.

First impressions are the dripbox isn't for me, too much mess and faffing around. The Cleito 120 however is bloody brilliant, though at 105w it plows through juice at a serious rate. It blows my Kanger Subtanks out the water in terms of flavour and vapour, may stick with this for a while.

I also bought a Smok V8 thingy a couple of weeks ago but it leaked a full tank of juice in about 5 mins so it's been banished to the cupboard, I may dig it out again this week and have another go with the single coil that it came with, it was the 4 coil head that leaked so will see how that goes.

On the juice front I have to confess to not being a fan of the Ruthless stuff, despite the good reviews it isn't for me. Given the rate the Cleito is using liquid however I need to find an alternative and sharpish. Can anybody suggest somewhere I can get a DIY juice starter kit? Would keen to give it a try as finding decent flavour high VG (70% or more at a minimum) liquid is getting to be a bit of a pain in the arse

Remove the head, turn it upside down and look at the rubber seal. You should see the two earthing wires either side of the rubber seal. The outer one will almost certainly be causing a gap in the seal.

Pull out the seal and manipulate that outer wire so it lays flat against the metal. Reseat the rubber, refit the head and that should fix the issue.

It caught me out, too.

You just need the PG/VG & Nic plus a few concentrates to get you started, wouldn't go mad like I did starting off and get a ton of concentrates as half have been wasted and only needed 0.5% for a few juices. Also worth getting some scales that can read down to 0.00g and if possible doesn't have auto shut off as its a pain when mixing large bottles. Syringes worth getting but I don't use these much now appart from adding the VG/PG & Nic to the bottles. Defo get nitrile gloves as you really don't want 72% nicotine on your skin. As for the Nic I prefer PG as its easier to work with, best get a few different blunt needles for the base liquids, a thicker one for VG & couple thinner for the PG & Nic.

I get my base liquids from DarkStar (1 lite VG, 500ml PG & 250ml Nic has lasted ages) I tend to mix full VG for back home use & out and about but 50/50 for work as it gets too foggy!

Also had some pre mixed base from The Juice Cabbin and a selection of different sized syringes, 10/30/50ml bottles (get a load of 10ml to start off and mix different flavours) Les also sells TFA & Capella concentrates, he does a monthly raffle with the TFA juices so worth getting a bottle to enter the draw smile Then the winners are announced on his YouTube channel.

Concentrates I get from Chefs Flavour, Flavourart and thee-cig shop. If you like strawberry & custard juices it's worth getting larger bottles of Capella VC version 1 and TFA Strawberry Ripe plus Capella Sweet Strawberry as they get used a lot. Also worth getting Ethyl Maltol as its used a lot as a Sweetner. Popular juices from FA worth getting are Meringue & Marshmallow and Sugar Cookies a good one. Flavour West Yellow cake seem to be used a lot and TFA Graham Cracker Clear. Depends what you like really but I've found the above are in a lot of nice recepies. I use ELR for recepies & the juice calculator but Reddits got some nice ones in there plus Vaping Underground.

Thanks, I'm looking at the Samsung 30q or LG HG2 at the moment, still undecided on the IPV6x or Alien.

Thanks Dai, will have a wade through the links and see what I can come up with. I'm fairly sure I'll make some horrors to begin with but it's worth giving it a shot as I'm £50-£100 a month on juice at the moment and I'm keen to change that sooner rather than later!

Pics as promised, next to my Sigelei 75w single battery mod and uwell crown v1. The smok is really small for a twin battery mod. LG HG2's arrived at the same time and they are charging so not used the smok yet.

The Alien looks like a really nice bit of kit. I think I'll invest for a more pocket friendly mod when I'm out and about.

so I've ended up smoking again.

I used to smoke around 10-20 cigs a day until I found e-cigs.

I had a fairly basic (kanger?) device at first until the leaks drove me nuts then I changed it for an Aspire Natulius which was okay until it started leaking lots to which I changed it to an MPV battery with a normal Kanger head which worked until it leaked then I changed the head again which worked until I accidentally put the battery into a pint whilst drunk (causing the battery to near explode!)

There's a 'tablites' shop near me and I went in for a recommendation and they sold me a Joytech e-vti mini with Joytech tank and some liquid.

The vape from it was very poor then it stopped working and leaked after 2 days so I went back in the shop - "oh it's the liquid that's wrong, you'll need a thinner mix" that worked for a few days until the hits were awful, I went back in the shop again: "yeah mate for these types of e-cig they are 'deep inhale' not 'mouth to lung' so you'll need completely different liquid and a completely different resistance wick, we don't sell them anymore because people deep inhale." I just walked out.

The next day I was stressed at the office and just went out and bought a pack of Marlboro, this was 2 months ago. E-cigs have become too complicated with too many variables I think

Can anyone recommend a decent leakless 'mouth to lung' device?

I sympathise mate as I did the same. No disrespect to some of the posters on here (who have been hugely helpful to me in advice at times) but half the posts I read are like I'm at an IT convention. I am a technophobe and its mind boggling.

Similarly, the devices on sale got ever more complex and I didn't know what the fook I was trying to create between sub-ohming and variable valve bks etc. It got to the point it was easier to buy a packet of tabs - far less variables.

However, I persevered and finally got to the techie description of what it was I was after - like you, it was mouth to lung. I discovered what sort of coil I needed for that and a rough idea of resistance I needed for the draw to not be too loose etc. And similarly, with the liquids what had the right viscosity to be able to vape it without buggering around with temperature controls etc etc.

Anyway, I have an Aspire Plate now with a nautilus coil. Its nicely compact, doesn't leak, fills easily and I run it about 15W and toot away on it without a care in the world of "cloud chasing" or blowing custard flavoured sub-ohms from my backside or whatever the forums talk about. I still have the odd tab and happy enough about that but its a packet a week rather than a packet a day and yet I still am out in bars socialising 5 - 6 nights a week where usually a tab and a pint go hand in hand.
