Oh, and also ordered a couple of LG hg2 batteries from provapes - then saw on that chart there's a lot of fakes around...

Think they'll be OK? Especially at the settings I'm running?
I wouldn't be running a suspected fake battery at any setting. I'd contact them and ask for confirmation. And if not, get onto Torchy.
Any way of determining if it's fake? I can't imagine any vendor would admit it if merely emailed?

Edit - Update:

Emailed provapes, calling out my concern at the potential for counterfeits, in a polite way as certainly on observations (which I know are fallible) there's nothing to suggest it is...

Billy got back to me a couple of hours later, and put my mind at ease. He articulated how he completely understood my concerns, and equally how important he feels that his products are what they say they are.

Suffice to say, his email pointed out that he's used his current battery supplier for a number of years, they have direct contracts with LG and Samsung, and Provapes themselves run some random tests on each batch of cells they get in, without any failing their tests in the time they've been using the supplier.

Reading up online, it seems the 'high quality' counterfeits are often lower quality LG cells, or refurbished. Easiest tests seem to be to use a charger that actually measures the mAh within the cell, as the fakes seem to consistently be around the 2000mAh mark, with the lg2 coming out at around 2500mAh. Voltage slump seems very pronounced on the fakes too, which I would be able to see on the battery meter of the dna chipped device I'm using.

Overall, I'm happy, and it seems Provapes do go a little above and beyond to make sure they're happy to stand behind the products they sell...

Will just be absolutely clear, I have zero connection to Provapes, or any business related to vaping, in any way whatsoever other than a random consumer.

Nice find Steve smile

Ordered the Sigelei, my istick30 battery's clinging onto life here and the dna40 isn't much better. This will come in handy for a nice back up mod smile

GB have the Therion BF on offer for £81 now, not sure if I can get it cheaper elsewhere though?

I've had the Sigelei for ages now, it's a really solid bit of kit and at that price a total steal. Cheers for the heads up on Digbys, I DIY but occasionally buy pre made for a change.

I DIY too Stu but there are some real bargains on the go just now and there'll likely be plenty more before the 20th May.

Cheapest I've seen the Therion BF in the UK is £100, so £81 is a bargain. The Sigelei was too good a deal to pass up for an excellent mod at beer money - I've got a Sigelei 50wV2 that is over two years old, it's wearing well and working flawlessly and I hope this one fairs as well.

Just checked GB and I've got some credit there plus a bit more ££ off if I can post reviews, having a mare trying to post any reviews there. Just won't have it which is driving me nuts as it'll bring the price down to 60 quid!!

Yeah read some reviews on the Sigelei and seems a nice mod, steal at that price smile

I'll pick up a couple good 18650's this week for it, probably the 25r

Think I'm going to order VTC6s for it, I run at 30w-ish so won't be troubling the amp limits, and the extra run time will be nice.

Today's bargain - Simply Vape Co are doing their VG range for 99p/15ml and £1.99/30ml (only comes in 3 and 6mg) 50% off the rest of their range https://simplevapeco.com/collections/vg-by-simple

Need some Temp control help please!

I'm using a Smok Alien and Uwell Crown tank with the Ni200 0.15 coil.

It's in TC mode, 450F, 60W and TCR set to 0.000600.

This worked fine for me this morning, no issue at all. Just tried to use it again and it's hitting temp protect warnings almost instantly. The instructions are useless and I'm struggling to understand why it cuts out.

Any pointers?

I binned my ni200 coils, royal pain in the butt frown

Get some 0.25ohm SS coils, MILES better and can run in both TC & wattage modes. The Crowns nickel coils really are pants, this vapes great now with the SS coils smile

Ah, is this just to be expected from these then?

I've normally used the 0.5 coils in wattage mode. Thought I'd try these for a change.

I played around with the TCR setting for ages (hours!!!) And tried different temp/wattage settings to get it going but still had a very inconsistent vape. Even took it with me to the Vape shop and he was stumped. Also tried it with my dna40 mod but still the same.

I get my coils from fasttech, usually takes between 10-14 days to arrive.

You could try lowering the power but I found they still have a weak Vape

It's a bit disappointing, the initial vape from it was great!

Hi guys,

Been using a Coolfire 4 Plus with a Cleito tank for about a year now and it's served me relatively well.

Looking for a change now and to use the CF + Cleito as a back up, mainly because I've fully quit smoking now and am using the Coolfire all day, which is leaving me slightly wheezy/coughing after extended use.

I vape it at 47.5W on the 0.4s with a 70% VG liquid.

Been reading on new options but I get confused with all the TC malarky. I hate complicated devices and want something simple to use but also to retain the cloud production of the cleito. Are the Smok series worth a look? The Alien kit is out of budget but the Mini Alien or the Smok R80..

Any suggestions? Would rather avoid external batteries as thats another faff i don't need

Crown V3 has been announced, I'd be waiting for those to become available and getting a DNA 75 mod to go with it (love my Vape Droid 26650 although the coating is coming off so it looks rubbish)

What's your budget? Any chance of learning to install coils into an RDA? I run an RDA as my daily with a single Fused Clapton @ 0.5 Ohms and run it at 50W for a vape that is much much better than anything you could get from a SMOK tank, better flavour, better clouds and much much cheaper even if you buy pre-built coils

Id say budget is less than £50 all in - Hence why I want to avoid a battery powered one and prefer in built battery.

No, I'd say the world of RDA's and building stuff is a little out of scope for me at the moment. What I really want is a kit I can pick up and go and dont have to faff about with various different settings etc.

Just struggling to find the right mod - Tank wise I've narrowed it down to the Cleito (Again) or a TFV8 by Smok.. Totally confused

What would you suggest as a good mod to go with it?
