Thanks to your heads up on this. I just ordered a Hotcig RSQ80 and a Dead Rabbit 22mm SQ. Moving from Uwell Crown v1's that I've been happy with for ages but looking for more flavour.

Ordered a couple of pre made coils with it as well but would appreciate some advice on where to get future pre-mades from. Not looking for super low resistance but whatever is best for flavour hopefully without massive juice usage.
http://www.wireandstuff.co.uk/products/Pre-Made-Clapton-Coils-.html

Lots on here - price usually dictates quality.. the better the coil, the longer it will last (should last about 2 months re-wicking at least once a month)

Maybe start with something simple like a dual fused clapton (The higher the grade of wire, the better flavour)

Thanks, very useful. More by luck than judgement the prebuilt coils I ordered were fused claptons. After a bit of reading these seem a great choice.

Smut over on POTV sells some excellent coils, I think his Fused Claptons were £5 a pair or 3 pairs for £10 and his Aliens were £7.50 a pair. I’ve got his coils in all my tanks & drippers now, some have been in since last July and still going strong.

Fused claptons are excellent, quick ramp up and great flavour. Coils will last indefinitely with regular wick changes and dry burning of the coils - mind and dry burn your new coil upon installation to burn all the crap off that may be present. Great wee setup your going to have when it arrives, reviews are very positive for the dead rabbit SQ as well - enjoy!

I'm going to chase him up and see if he has an email address that people on here can order through. His coils are absolutely top notch, I was looking at a pair of fused claptons I got off him earlier and the wire work is exemplary - 2 x 28awg wrapped in 40awg coming in at 0.4 for the pair and that is what I asked him for; I bought these to use on a series mechanical but they'll be equally fine on a regulated mod smile

Yep they're pretty awesome to be fair!! I've got the kit here to make my own (Daedalus and all the wires) but there's no way I'd get them as good as his especially with 28/40! Plus haven't got time to fart around with a baby keeping me on my toes. Haven't even looked at fixing the Saab since it went bang frown

These coils have lasted ages but do take good care of them. Dry burn then heat them up again and carefully run some cold water over them, dry burn again and they come up like new.

What series mech have you got Steve? I've got a pair of his Fused claptons in a twisted messes dripper on my Noisy Cricket, coming in at 0.48ohms (same as you asked for 0.5 and he came pretty much bang on the money)

You should try his Aliens out, excellent and a fair bit better than the claptons, tons of flavour, but they come in around 0.15ohms so way too low on a series mech so just use these on my DR & pulse bf. Looking at some Brochrome next to try in the Hadaly (loving this Hadaly squonking) smile

Just found a couple tins of Vapor Royalty cotton I forget I'd bought a couple years ago, nice step up from cotton bacon V2 especially in these kayfuns. More flavour and I can run higher wattage now before I get wicking issues. Was getting some dry hits on the Prime, also not as leaky as cotton bacon. Worth a look.

The Hotcig RSQ80 and a Dead Rabbit 22mm SQ arrived today. I set it up with a 0.3 ohm ni80 fused clapton running in power mode.

I'm super happy with the combo, the RDA is easy to wick and produces tons of flavour compared to the subtanks I have used. The whole setup is tiny and for me is a very satisfying vape. Early days with it but I can't see me needing anything more than this.

Anyone else suffer with this and is there a way round it?

Congrats on chucking the fags again. What ratio eliquid are you using? Some people have an intolerance to propylene glycol, which is one of the main components in liquid, and wheezing can be a common effect of this. Try a liquid with higher vegetable glycerine ratio and see if that helps.
I have experienced this from high-VG juices too so it might not be PG sensitivity so much as something in the flavouring. Both my housemate who vapes a lot and myself who vapes less often find that certain juices make us wheezy or are simply harder to inhale than others. Quite often the case that most flavours in a given range which all have the same PG/VG ratio are fine but there is one that just doesn't go down so well. And to top it all off, I am fine with some that he finds hard going, and vice-versa.

True, true - my Mrs all day vape makes me slightly wheezy and one of my favourite juices makes her wheezy too.

It was a Vaperz Cloud Piglet series mech Dai - I've had a couple of noisy crickets but moved them on quickly due to the build quality, on both of them the switch came apart causing an auto fire :twitch: The VCP Piglet was some bit of kit, solid brass faceplate with alloy body and kicked like a mule! Evolution vaping have coloured versions for under £60.

Aye I'm running low on cotton bacon and thinking of trying something else, don't know what though? I've got some brochrome in 25awg and it's very good, pm me your address on POTV and I'll send you some to try - 25awg is more suited to dual coils if you're running a mech but you could build a parallel coil with it for the Hadaly?

Got an email contact for Smut (Daniel) for his contraband coils - cntrbndcoils@gmail.com

Thanks Steve I’ll pm you later mate (on nights atm)

Yeah the build quality isn’t the best on the NC, I’ve fitted the Fat Daddy upgrade kit to mine so has the normal 510 fitted but went back to the original button after a few weeks, I nipped mine up nice & tight though, heard a few have come apart. Tempted to get another series mech but my next purchase will be a nice regulated squonker. I’m converted now, should have gotten one ages ago!

Ok have got some 80/20 so will see how that pans out .
Shop owner did say that with my tank it’ll likely burn the coil out quicker but then I have a few spares so I’m prepated to give it a go .

Part of me thought he was trying to sell me a new setup !
Anyhow Tks for the advice

Glad you're happy with it, it's a great squonking set up for not a great deal of money smile

After suggestions for a new tank.

I've used Uwell Crown tanks with the 0.5ohm coils for over a year now and whilst trying others I stuck with it. I tend to vape around 45-55W but recently the coils are burning out quicker than normal. There's been no change to the liquids I'm using so I'm assuming its the quality of the coils that's changed.

What I'm looking for is...
Tank that ideally could be adapted to take more than 2ml
Has good availability of prebuilt coils. I just don't have time to make my own.
Has coils at 0.5-0.2 ohms.

Thanks
Have a look at the Eden Moda Trillium, it's 2ml but can be adapted to 4ml - not cheap at £45 but takes a multitude of coils and is a cracking vape.

Concur with the Eden Mods Trillium, was available for a while at £28 on Creme De Vape but back up to £45 there now. I have two of them, great little pieces of kit and the coil compatability is frankly ludicrous

My full sized nautilus has started to give up the ghost. The thread is failing so it leaks.

Have been perfectly happy with it for the last couple of years and can't be bothered with all this sub ohm stuff.

So whats the current census on a replacement. Can I even still by something with decent capacity that will last me comfortably all day without having to top up etc ?

Harry H the 2ml rules only apply to UK or EU sellers you might be able to buy a full size 5ml Nautilus from overseas or someone with old stock.

Good shout, will try that.

Any links for the 4ml conversion?
