I don't know, but I can probably guess. All started getting a bit dox'y.

It got a bit too stalky - a lot of personal details starting to emerge, rather than just discussion on the Forex/Crypto Scamming methods used by and the fake lifestyles portrayed by Kez the Guru, James & Tom Watts, Lee Davis etc,

There but for the grace of God and all that.

Back then - the 90s - tribal tats were a departure from the sailors' tattoos of yesteryear and were, it seemed, fresh and new. But as with all things fresh, one day they become stale.

An extension of that: In today's society, not having a tat is almost more edgy than having one.
People are obviously free to adorn their bodies with whatever permanent ink they like, but I do find it quite sad that so many young people have had such extensive and difficult to conceal tattoo coverage done. They have yet to see that tattoo fashion can change and seem oblivious to the possibility of the image deteriorating over time.

As for edginess, when the majority of 30/40 something mothers and fathers at a swimming pool has "ink" it is hardly an act of rebellion.
I've always like the idea of a tatto, and at the age of 18 I was sat in a studio when the reality hit me that this was forever, and I didn't really know what I wanted, where on my body and what size.

It was another 22 years before I had finally decided the answers and found an artist that could do the idea justice. And I am now proud to wear something that is very personal to me by a world renowned artist (at least in the tattoo world anyway!).

Each to their own though - I understand why people don't like them, but if we were all the same, it would be a bit 1984-esque.

Quite. I'm rebelling by not have my arm, calf, chest or neck adorned with ink. I stand out more.

Maybe I'll be taken to Room 101 to have a full sleeve and neck done?

That's the thing, its a personal thing and affects only the participant.

My only reservation is the appalling quality - hygiene, design and implementation - of some. You wonder at their sanity.
And what they become after 10 stone in weight and 20 years are added.

What a shame. She has good bone structure and attractive eyes. She almost certainly has mental health issues too though.

Edited to add a picture of her before the tattoo...and probably drug problem.

Now the drugs don't work. They just make you worse. But I know I'll see your face again....

Um, not unless she has extensive laser removal on the boat race.

That's such a shame to see that.... I have a daughter roughly the same age as the 'before' photograph. I would weep if she did that to herself.

I don't really comment in this thread as I don't particularly like tattoos - but I have an open mind and who knows, I might get one one day, never say never. Also the incredible artistry I have occasionally seen is quite something. But to disfigure yourself in this way seems madness - indeed, as others have said, it probably is.

The tattooist that did that for what? $200? should be imprisoned.

That, and he allowed someone to do that to them self when they were probably not of sound mind.
