Had this off the seller:

TNT just turned up but wouldn't take the wheels as they were not packaged....
This is why I stated collection in person !
I'll refund your £75

(although the ad stated collection in person, I made contact prior to bidding to see if a courier would be acceptable wise choice, eh?

Nowhere on their website, or consignment details does it say they have to be packaged!

I have offered the seller and extra £5 through paypal to go and buy some duct tape and tape the fkers up and I'll get back on the phone to Paisley.

They're fine (think it's a very small operation)

The problem, as has been said, is usually with their sub-contractors.

If he said collect in person why did you try to buy them if you knew you needed a courier yes

To be fair, alloys always have to have some sort of packaging - not the courier's fault, they all would have refused.

I've used paisley freight about 4 times and never had a problem.

Because some people say collection in person, but are happy with a courier collecting them.

Anyway, seller is happy to package the item it Paisley will go back out.

Spoke to a lovely scottish lady who assures me it's "all over" their website about packaging and in FAQ's so will chalk that down to experience. She also said that Alloy wheel need to have a peice of cardboard covering the face of the wheel and then each wheel to be fully wrapped in bubble wrap as it may go down a conveyor belt and is for "protection".

I'll get back in touch with the seller to see if he is happy to do this if I chuck him an extra tenner. Paisley have said they will fully refund me if it all falls through.

It quite clearly states they have to be packaged, and tells you what's expected.
Yeah, I know getmecoat

I'll take that one on the chin.

Seems a bit excessive though, don't you think?

If the seller is happy to wrap them, tell him to go to a garden centre and ask for green house insulation, most sell it. Its bubble wrap but the bubbles are about 3/4" in diameter. Cheaper than buying bubble wrap from the usual outlet.

Thanks! The seller is a business located on an industrial estate so most probably has some lying around somewhere. I offered the £15 as I felt like a bit of a tit messing him around. Especially as he was doing me a favour by accepting a courier! I will pass on the message though! biggrinthumbup

At a rough guess I reckon I have sent 40-50 sets of alloys via Paisley freight and have only been let down once but that was more the fault of DHL and not Paisley.

always put cardboard over the wheel face but just a bin bag over the rest - so long as theres a tyre on the rim still

Used them for the first time this week.

No complaints here, although it was a TNT guy that picked the item up.

i have used paisley freight many times,as i break cars so post a lot, they are a booking agent, TNT usually turn up.
nightmare for damage, posted about 20 doors etc in the last 6 months about 10 got damaged! and despite insurance read their small print!
no panels/bumpers/bonnets /anything with glass! is not covered for damage!
last week they lost an audi a4 front slam panel! how as it's pretty big, they admitted losing the item as well, they have said their insurers will take up to 6 weeks to pay out. why so long?
this is the last time i will use paisley freight, due to poor insurance cover.

Used PF 3 times for my bike sales, F**ked once , so far, so 66.666% success rate,
they sub to TNT, but there the best I've used to date since UPS stopped shifting most of the bits Ebay sellers need to transport,
