The trainers in question are really lightweight "Nike Mayfly Prm" which I got for a very low price in the Nike outlet store.
I just checked out some reviews to learn that they are designed to last only 100 km - named after the Mayfly because of it's short lifespan!
It's a good job they were cheap then!
A lot of people don't think about that when they buy trainers for running. All proper running trainers will have been designed to do their job for a set distance. A few of the runnings apps will now keep track of how far your trainers have been to remind you to renew I just checked out some reviews to learn that they are designed to last only 100 km - named after the Mayfly because of it's short lifespan!

Nike 1997 Zoom Air Terra Albis
they look like this:
There are many reasons to replace them, but I seldom run so I'm keeping them!
I generally have to hoover them when I get them out to do the annual JPM Chase Challenge, I do about one in every three.
Given the green shoe chatter of late, I very quickly picked up on one of cigar club members wearing these beauties yesterday.
Apologies for using a potato for the photography.
In his defence, he is normally quite fussy in the care and presentation of his foot wear, and was extremely embarrassed on this occasion. Very sporting of him to allow me the photo (after swearing that anonymity was guaranteed ).
For g3org3y's benefit, I must mention that the gentleman in question was our host; provided excellent cigars (see cigar thread), arranged amazing whiskey (also cigar thread) and did in fact sport a green linen jacket and a very nice yellow patterned Turnbull & Asser bow tie.
of course, this being the shoe thread, all comments will likely be directed at the floor

Terribly cheap decking old chap There is a cigar thread? Where can I find this?!
Traditions...
It's quite handy actually. Accidentally dropped ash simply disappears below. Keeps the place tidy.

He hasn't been seen since 21st Feb. Maybe his wall of Addidas shoe boxes has fallen on him
I hope not - I liked his posts and actually bought a pair of Adidas trainers because of his enthusiasm. The trainers were the most comfortable I've owned ( though don't last long, need to be replaced now).
Perhaps someone could encourage him back to the fold

Sounds like a good colour combination: green, orange, brown and yellow. I've used a similar colour palate in the Autumn with a brown tweed jacket. Works really well.
Bow ties are a bit too 'dandy' for me, but then again today I've just taken delivery of two linen/cotton combo jackets - one pale blue and one pale pink. It's summer after all.

yes they may be even more controversial than green. my plan is to wear them for a bit and then perhaps have them resoled with something more normal, I think. they are pretty comfy though.
Could you not just return them to she shop and buy a whole pair of shoes that is more normal?Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
