Ok, I'm just going to leave this picture here and then never look at this thread again.

I am so, SO sorry. I think something in my brain is broken.

If you live in Alaska or somewhere with proper snow I'll forgive you those, but your profile says Cambridgeshire!
Well they arrived the other day. Possibly the most comfy things I've ever put on my feet. It was like sliding my feet into two tubs of marshmallows.

I have a pair of Loake's Naylors which did that. On close inspection there was a little daylight between heel and shoe. They replaced them FOC immediately - excellent customer service.
I'll have a look. If they keep doing it though they're going back.

The guy I dealt with was Oliver Coker - very helpful.

Pretty tempted by these for driving - I love the Puma Motorsport Suede series, but some of the new designs are either horrible, or Ferrari branded. However as a 28 year old, I'm concerned I might look a bit stupid if I pop into the local supermarket with the below ... What do you think? Any other suede driving (thin soles, narrow) shoes worth considering before I hit 'buy'?

bit pricey but omp's vintage shoes look reasonable under jeans. if youopt for the sparco's don't bother with full race boots, karting boots are just as good yet much cheaper. i use sparco kart boots for trackdays.
Converse All Stars as driving shoes for me. smile
As much as I love Converse, they just don't suit me frown I've ordered the Sparco Speed SL-3 shoes above, which should hopefully be here tomorrow ... So I'll be sure to contribute with a photo! smile

I'm assuming you'll change into your shoes in the car and only the petrol station forecourt will see them?

However they do look nice for a driving trainer.

I'd say he enjoys podium dancing and grooming his twin Pomeranians.

Herring. First pair of Goodyear welted shoes. Taking a little bit of breaking in - too big around the ankle, so may need some pads to fill them out?

I think we both know it's too late for that.

Because I'm not a teenage mum taking her kids to school with a fag hanging out of my mouth?

In all seriousness, they only get worn when it's dark outside and nobody can see me smile

I'm after some recommendations. My last couple of pairs were Jones Chukka boots, the first pair lasted forever and are still going strong although a little tatty now, the second pair was a bit disappointing and the upper is coming away from the sole on one of them after what I consider to be not much use.

Cobbler has said it will be £35 to fix, so I'm thinking I might as well buy some new ones. Budget is about £100, could stretch to slightly more for the perfect pair. I'm leaning toward Loake at the moment, any other suggestions? Also where is best / cheapest to buy them from?
