After a decisive 'don't spend any money in February' talking with myself, I accidentally bought two pairs of Loakes in Wimbledon Debenhams. The blue suede pair were half price though (£67.50), and the brown pair were 30% off (£105). So two pairs of Loakes for £170. Can you feel the man maths at work? I had my eye on a pair of Loake Bedale boots for ages, but they're £230. So I got two pairs and still saved £60… definitely man maths!
I think they're Libra (blue suede ones) and Bryant (brown ones). The Libras are Loake for Jasper Conran but the quality seems the same as my other pairs. Beans on toast for the rest of the month I think, but I'm happy! Excuse the dirty floor…

Good buy. I was looking at both of them in Meadowhall debenhams seemed brilliant value especially the blue suede. However I want a blue suede Winchester boot rather than a shoe. I've had a most frustrating day; really. Having been told that my order for my new Loake's was on hold due to lack of stock I cancelled, then decided to ring the factory and see where I could actually try a pair on. Well, not at the factory, that's for sure since they have no shop and not at the majority of stockists I phoned in the south of England. They wouldn't even order a pair in for me to try on either. I've found some in the end, slight seconds too and quite a bit cheaper, but it is a frustrating experience, and outside the great conurbations it seems that good shoe shops no longer exist. And why are most Loake stockists in the north?
