I recommend Saludos espadrilles. Very well made in the traditional style although they fit very small. Mine are 11 whereas I'm usually a 10.

He could drop those down unturn them to a 'proper' length, wear a decent pair of loafers (& socks as this isn't the Pitti Uomo) and it'd look quite good imo.

As g3org3y says they are to be worn with shorts only, however if you think leather is dangerous on hard floors, rope is on a whole new level. You have been warned.

Two new DCs for me. Top ones are for active type stuff and the bottom ones are just general trainers for walking about and suchlike. Curiously, no skateboarding, but I just like DC Shoes.
