TY4C, why the espadrille hate? Would work well with shorts. A nice casual alternative to boat shoes for the summer imo.

These are the ones I bought and I would highly recommend them. https://uk.diegos.com/enuk/men-ivory-espardenya.ht...
We've had some shockers on this thread, but these are right up there. A cross between a bumper car and a bread roll.
Even if you could smoke the hemp, that would be a very poor deal.

What makes you say that Craig?
I think they do a good job of bridging the gap between flip flops and boat shoes (or Converse low tops) for a casual summer shoe.
I don't have a pair myself as I wear the TOMS that I posted a couple of months back but I would consider them.
I'd rather blokes were wearing espadrilles rather than the current obsession with flip flops which seem to all emerge (and appear to be worn all the time) as soon as we get some sun.

To be fair though, for their intended purpose (shorts and t-shirt) I don't see you can beat them.
Here's a map of the main factory stores.
Also worth visiting the Factory outlet shoe store in Olney which stocks a lot of Loake and the Dr. Marten store in Woolaston which has 1000's of boots, shoes and DM clothing.

How big a saving do you tend to get in the Dr. Marten store? I've been toying with the idea of black 1490s for a few months now but I swear every time I take a look at the website they're not in the right size or the price is higher than I thought. Not sure if they'd even be in the outlet given they're sort of a core line, but worth asking in case anyone happens to be there. Also worth visiting the Factory outlet shoe store in Olney which stocks a lot of Loake and the Dr. Marten store in Woolaston which has 1000's of boots, shoes and DM clothing.

Dr. Marten shop is very good. Pretty much the entire range in every size plus belts, T shirts etc. I'm not going to quote prices but they are well below retail with some at 40/50%.
I'm sure if you call they'll advise as to specific stock and the added bonus is it's in a nice area for a walk or meal.

Oh wow, that big a difference in price? Sounds well worth the trip... maybe not from Northern Ireland though! I'm not going to quote prices but they are well below retail with some at 40/50%.

Just got these Magnanni Trainers, as I needed something for our holidays. They were discounted massively, so thought they were worth a punt.
I suppose they should go on the show us your Trainers thread, but they are such a quality leather item, they feel, more like real everyday shoes, if you see what I mean.
Beautifully made shoes too, they feel, like they will last for ever!
Sorry for poor iPad photo!

Yep, I could live with those.
They are also one of those style of shoes, that when you slip, them on for the first time they seem perfect, like you've owned them for years. They remind me very much of the Diadora leather trainers I had back in th 90's, back then they were a very high quality premium brand, and not a cheapened version worn by chavs!
These don't even feel like Trainers, more like a premium loafer of some sort.
Will try to take some better pictures too later.
I think mine were so cheap as they look like they were last seasons models, but they still make this style in different colours too.
They seem to prefer to refer to them as designer sneakers too!

That's exactly where I got them from LG! I'm very pleased with them for the price!
My colleague's pair of shoes was in tatters so I offered to do it up for him. It was quite in a state when he brought it over. It should be in the bin really.
Before
A bit of clean up with renovateur and conditioning
After
Some cream polish to minimise the scuffings and wax polish to bring out the shine. Decided to do a light mirror shine on the toe cap but didn't want to over egg it. Wasn't quite sure if he want it that shiny and I didnt want to spend too much time on it.
