So I think I have just got a bargain.
Picked up a pair of Cheaney’s on the 4436 last (I can only find 2 pairs of shoes on that last and they’re not mine) on an itshide britgrip golfer sole for work for £116 delivered.
These replace my work Loakes which disappointed me this time round as the toe caps folded straight after purchase (I should have sent them back but didn’t) they also now have a cut in the leather on the toe cap, and need a new sole do you think they’ll be too far gone for loake to repair?

If he is tall and skinny it will be fine.https://www.cutiemk.com/products/luxury-fashion-me...
After having talked about it for far longer than necessary, I bought a pair of 1490s last week. No pictures taken by myself as my carpet is not awe-inspiring.
For the gurus out there, is there such a thing as a shoe tree for a boot? I have seen a few people wearing DMs that are well past their best, with a few pairs having the front of the boot bent out of shape with the rest of it. Obviously, this looks absolutely hideous and I'd like to avoid doing the same. I'm fairly sure avoiding it is as simple as 'replace them when they're worn out, not a few years afterwards' but just in case there's something else I'm missing, I'll ask here.
I also bought a pot of the branded dubbin as well which I intend to apply with a soft, clean cloth. Is it as simple as that or is there another technique which real connoisseurs would be privy to?
Breaking them in wasn't nearly as bad as I had worried it might be, either. It's not hard to find accounts of how legendarily stiff the leather initially is, and how you should fully expect them to break you in rather than vice-versa, but so far it hasn't been unbearable. In brief, I like them... and I've looked at a few of their other models with a curiosity I wouldn't have had otherwise. For instance, the Adrian tassle loafer - but how would you wear such a thing?

Yes just google boot tree and get a cedar one that’s the right shape for the boot such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Wing-Cedar-Boot-Trees...

Nice selection!
Are those the Northcote on 348 last?
If I ever get around to buying some Shell Cordovan, I will get the Harlech on 341. Looks very similar;

I did have a look at the Harlech boots and they are excellent but the extra £250 cost and the fact they have a leather sole allowed me to walk away for the winter...............but may pop back next Spring

I didn’t actually say I was going to set fire to it while he was wearing it but I like your style Quite right Craig
I'm not surprised, GB2 reads a lot of harsh Russian literature.
