We’ve booked to go to Lillehammer again in Feb, and knowing how cold it can get I had a look at my old Sorel Caribou Boots, and realised they had a small split in the rubber.
At first I was going to moan, and ask for a refund, but then I found a picture of our first trip to Lillehammer,,and realised it was 2009!
So they have done pretty well for eight years of trips to the rally and 8 years of walking the dog in all seasons too!
So a new pair was in order, and they arrived today.
Went for the slightly more Hard wearing waxy leather outer this time, and very nice they do look too!
Great boots and very warm. Just be careful on ice though. Ice skates offer better grip.At first I was going to moan, and ask for a refund, but then I found a picture of our first trip to Lillehammer,,and realised it was 2009!

Someone must have purchased a pair of brown/tan brogues in the last week or so.

I suggest you wear two pairs of (oversized) socks, If need be. One pair of proper wool socks too, none of that cheap-arse watered-down cotton blend mix etc.At first I was going to moan, and ask for a refund, but then I found a picture of our first trip to Lillehammer,,and realised it was 2009!

Made me think of Lilyhammer TV series with that ex Sopranos chap. Which have ended some to time ago, and I didn't get the chance to watch fully.

Yep as I said I already have a pair, these are just replacements as the others have worn out over the last 8 years of winter Snow trips!Made me think of Lilyhammer TV series with that ex Sopranos chap. Which have ended some to time ago, and I didn't get the chance to watch fully.
I have some merino wool snowboard socks that I wear with them, they work a treat!
Yes Lillehammer on Netflix, one of my favourite series, the first two seasons were great but it goes a bit flat towards the end!
Still worth a watch though!

Please do not invest in any of the latest "designer" shoes or boots that have appeared on TK Maxx.
These "Valentino" are a prime example, with a RRP of £1,000 and a special reduced price of £449.00. Absolute crap and a total waste of money. The TK Maxx buyer must have been mugged.

With these fashion brands, aren’t tkmaxx just flogging stuff that couldn’t sell elsewhere. Please do not invest in any of the latest "designer" shoes or boots that have appeared on TK Maxx.

It’s like where the stock goes after the sales that nobody bought.
Sure sometimes there might be things you like where too many have been made or somethings been discontinued or whatever but for fashion brands it’s the styles that were a bit out there that nobody wanted to buy last season in a shop.
So it might be great for things like red loafers or other more aggressive fashion choices, which might suit you if it’s an impulse purchase or for a holiday or fancy dress.
