You'll get problems like this if the courier has to terrier hound trying to fit in all his deliveries.
Well perhaps they need to employ more staffy! getmecoat

You'll have to vet the company next time. Get a few pointers and some beagle advice. Setter a time limit for delivery and springer into action if they don't. Leave a felt tip message on a postcard written with a Shar Pei, and whippet up on the door frame.

Nice. I assume the buyer thinks it's your fault?
It is. It is either the buyers fault or the vendors fault. Do you see it differently?

epends on what sort of thing you're sending, but I was doing 15kg tool sets and sent them via Interparcel. A much better broker than the likes of parcel2go, and their standard services use UPS - the 48hr service delivered next day every single time and, where I was at least, the drivers were very good. Never had a problem, nor did my housemate who did pretty big volume with them!
Another vote for interparcel and hence UPS, just use the interparcel economy, almost always next day...

I've had TNT deliver to the wrong country.
Royal Mail once sent a letter addressed to me in Oslo via Brisbane smile
Similarly, UPS delivered to Dublin's depot rather than Edinburgh for one of mine. Then it went back to Indianapolis as they didn't have a Balfour Place in Dublin.

No idea what happened to it in the end, I got the company I was buying from to send me a replacement and they argued the toss with the couriers.

I've yet to find a well priced courier that doesnt employ cowboys, I've had packages delivered to me with no card left , items left in a previously locked gas cabinet, left in the garden in the rain.

But I've never had a card left with such honesty!
Boldface is our problem - if you want half-decent service, you've got to pay for it...

Personally, Royal Mail may be more expensive, but given the hassle of collecting from depots over an hour's drive away, it's bloody good value...

TNT are very good round here - but I do usually pay extra for Saturday Delivery...

HAHA! i would love to see a pic of the dog looking either proud with bits of packaging hanging out of its chops or ashamed.

Last Friday I ordered two items from the UK, one weighed 15kg and was delivered by DHL on Monday morning (I'm in NZ), the other was a key that was sent Royal Mail and has still not arrived, proof of postage has been received.

They delivered a parcel to us this week when we were out. A card through the door said left in the garden for us. However, they had thrown it over our neighbours' fence into their back garden rather than ours. It's a tall fence and also separated from us by a bin store, so it must have been a good long throw. Fortunately our neighbours don't have a dog, and it was clothes rather than an X-box so no damage done!

If you buy on-line you may not get a choice.

I was going to post the same thing. Problem is we all want a good service but dont want to pay for it. All delivery companies foul up, and the only option that really works is having stuff delivered to work although thats not practical for some stuff

This happened to my girlfriends family last week! The card says 'Dog! thrown over fence'. Four pairs of shoes have been found under the border hefge all lightly chewed.

What makes it worse is that theres a large clearly maked bell and intercom. They were in and the drive is short - if the clown had rung the bell then hed have had a signature within a minute or two at the most.

I had one of these with "package left in wheelie bin"

Came home from work, picked up the card, looked in the bin.... yes, it was bin day that day and the bin that was full in the morning, was nicely empty !

To add some complication, it was an unexpected gift from a friend so we didn't know what it was or who sent it (until some weeks later when they politely enquired if we received it).
