Agreed. I wear Superdry, Hollister, A&F so most be totally chav despite being a partner at one of the big four accountancy firms
Depends which of the big four you work for. If its E&Y, then yeah, you're definitely a chav! wink

Converse are getting chavvy.
They're a bit of a weird one. They used to be the polar opposite of chav and now they're both chav and not chav, which is impossible.
True. My 11yo thinks my Van's (I've four pairs) are naff and un-fashionable.
She saw a picture of me from the 90's wearing Converse. She nearly choked on her Corn Flakes. hehe

I'm looking at some Adidas Tabacco in green but not sure if they're chavvy!

I think people use "chav" far too broadly. I'm a bit of a slave to fashion after 3 consecutive girlfriends were all fashion students (Yeah ok, I have a type - leave me alone!) and they got me hooked on it. I would classify an item of clothing "chav" if no matter what I put with it, it still seems chav. For example a Burberry scarf can be worn without it looking chavvy, so the item itself isn't "chav". Whereas Adidas tracksuit trousers with the three stripes down the side are tethered to one fate in my eyes!

Looks wise, probably closest to the one on the far right.

However, I am fortunate enough to still have both legs.

Who's that lot? Darwin mine detectors?

I see your Gazelles and raise you Trimm Trabs. cool

I now have 4 pairs of them, very hard to come by occasionally JD Sports have them usually online rather than instore for a limited time. I have never seen them anywhere else for sale although Schuh used to sell Munchens, I have 2 pairs of those. cool

A friend got a Barbour jacket for Christmas from her boyfriend and that's had to go back to the shop; evidently very chav; she is a beautician and gets a lot of gypsy wedding pie key ladies in - all in their Barbour.
Barbour are very mixed.
They make chav tat and they also make decent clothes. I bought their Steve McQueen cardigan when it was in production and then I'll walk around and see some woman in a red barbour jacket. Bothers me.

Those haven't been worn yet, generally wear shoes. Only wear trainers when wearing shorts.

Kickers were so comfy, think I had three pairs in all back in the day. One green, one red wasn't it?

Did they? I think the Next directory ( with credit) came sometime after the stores were in existence. I have some Next socks so guess I'm chav

That's the ones.
I've gone for black with red piping/laces. Not sure they were around back then but onwards and upwards!
My 11yo will just do that lip thing and say "Whatever" when she sees them. hehe

I might have missed it (in fact that's quite likely) but I don't believe I've seen Primark mentioned here. If there was one clothes shop in which I would expect to find chavs it would be Primark.

Early 90's when I had them, 2 pairs of black, one brown in the moccasin style with that leather tag thing on the laces.

I'm sure that they were about £70 a pair 20 years ago. Everyone wore them.biggrin

Add that awful place that is like a jumble sale to that list of yours as well, Sports direct. Unless it's already been mentioned.

What utter tosh!

I remember buying stuff from them in the late 80's.

I had to pay cash!

Chavs weren't even invented then.

When they first got going in the early 80's weren't they quite an expensive place to buy from?

I remember the off shoot shops like 'next to nothing' that I think sold old stock in.

Apart from a few T shirts in recent years they never used to have a motif or name on their stuff, some 82 branded pieces but overall a brand with no badge.

I don't think anyone here knows what Chav means and if you think that you are better than others because of the brands you wear then you are a nob. No not snob, nob.

How can NEXT be chavvy? They sell dad jeans and jumpers FFS. Converse Chavez? Yes all those hoodlums in their Lonsdale tracksuit have Converse underneath with their NEXT socks.

I think people are confused between chavvy and popular.
