Peak PH: Rolex branded teaspoons...

The flange shape doesn't look right and while the box does at first glance look convincing, I believe there were originally three hinges, not two.

Did you buy these from Blib?

I really didn’t want to think of anyone “pulling the trigger” over these, but as they say, what has been seen cannot be unseen.

I’m just off to Lidl for some mind bleach...

At a loose end this morning, going through my spoon collection, I came across two spoons that were given as a present by an elderly aunt who knows that ‘little Wolfie likes his spoons‘. Unfortunately of all the spoons they could have bought me, they chose ones made by you know who, a 248(b) and a 348(b) according to a little online research. Anyway, after 5 minutes in the vice, a visit from Mr. Lump hammer and judicious use of a self tapping screw, I finally found a use for them and they now take pride of place on the back of the guest toilet door.

You have a toilet door making a guest appearance? That my friend is class. Furthermore the spoons remind me of the rather cruel Zwillingslöffel creations from mid 1930's Germany.

Regarding a previous post. Sadly, it looks like the once revered firm of Zwilling have paid homage to Mr Blib's latest folly.

I'll bet the scoundrel is in on a cut.

We at Krupp SA are acknowledged throughout the world as innovators in teaspoon technology.

However, we are aware that greatness is built on the work of those who came before us.

To celebrate this we are launching a limited edition spoon derived from an earlier classic.

Our experts have sourced a Knüffelhauser Series I prototype. We have used this as a template for a limited run of faithful reproductions which we call the the Krupp 242(b)Knüffelhauser(b).

(Stick something clever in here, Doris.)

The series 1 was the first spoon to successfully utilise dimple shaft technology in competition (Minsk 1911). We have faithfully reproduced the effect with the added benefit of a harder, more rigid shaft made of our patented Covidium(19) alloy.

Get yours now!

£4.95ea or two for a tenner. Cash only. No flange kickers.
Word's just reached me that the Chuang Dian factory in Guangzhou has recently placed a large order for handle dimple impressioning dies. Please tell me these aren't going to be churned out by machine in the PRC. Herr Knüffelhauser would be stirring in his grave.

Thread has become something of a freak show lately. Can we get back to quality please? (Krupp excepted).

Any ideas on what attack-spoon we would chose as the best self-defence weapon?

I am going to browse my collection and carry out a few field trials.

Yes, the heart does sink a little when you see the words ‘what it is is a totally new concept in stirring’.
Anyhow, returning to spoons of a certain standard, you may be interested in this, a 1978 Artaxerxes IV, Iranian in origin as you probably know. This one came from the Iranian embassy in the 1980s, I can’t go into too much detail about how I got it but you can probably work it out for yourself. As you can see it’s a big old beast, I’ve included a slug to give some idea of scale.

I'd heard an occasional rumour that those are the spoons that are used in the boathouse in Hereford wink

Legend? Do you not remember the spoon strikes of the 70's? Who do you think was behind them?

I remember an entire factory being called out just because the union hadn't been consulted over a very minor tweak to the flange design. It took weeks before they even got production restarted.

That's an easy one - Regents Park Police know a weapon when they see one

So according to them, any Sheffield Plate will do.

I remember seeing Mickk moderating the Earl Grey Cup in East Berlin 1972, pictured here at the award ceremony, congratulating Angelo Branduardi for his landmark win.

I have a vague memory of a "Not the 9 O'clock News" sketch featuring the SAS topping a boiled egg with one of those?
