I got asked for ID buying a pumpkin carving set in Waitrose, I had to point out that if I was intending to stab someone I wouldn't a) be shopping in Waitrose and b) be buying pumpkin carving tools with their tiny flexible feeble blades.
You got asked for ID?
Did the till person think you look under 25?

In fairness it was one of the self scan wand things and the till flagged it up, but still silly.

I got ID'd for alcohol free beer (dry January). Maybe they thought I might bottle someone with it. I was tempted.

Was given this as a present. Opinel survival knife. The wooden handled Opinels have fantastic blades, but the body swells if it gets wet and then the blade gets stuck. This one is plastic, has a whistle built in, and a semi serrated blade. I suppose technically it is a locking blade. It is very light and currently has a place in my hiking backpack.

I recently went through some of my granddads items that he had in the attic, as he past away recently and came across a knife he had in ww2. My question is it looks like its been used and had blood on the blade when it was put back in the sheath which has caused it to go rusty should I attempt to clean this off or leave it on?

Here's another pic. It's not super sharp but it has weight behind it to do the damage.

Crkt do a couple, minimalist range. I think I've put pics of them further back on this thread. Not made in Europe though. The cleaver above could be worn around your neck smile

What's the purpose of having the flat sharpened front of the blade, like a chisel. Is it for a specific purpose or just a design feature?

The flat tip is handy for digging, prying things open, slashing and scuba diving etc.

One of these is unlikely to fall apart though...
