The Cancer Kiss off - being dumped after diagnosis
Discussion
I'm another stranger watching from afar.
I'm so sorry to hear the news about Sam. He has shown so much strength and dignity in such a bloody awful situation.
He is a credit to all of his friends and family. Regardless of how long the battles goes on with his ex, his son will one day see that he had a dad to be very very proud of.
I'll be watching Spa on Sunday and will definitely raise a glass to him.
Bloody grit in my eye again. RIP Sam.

I've followed this thread, and the previous one from the beginning, and it has been hard to get my head around what an utter **** his ex-hag has been, and is obviously still being. How can any human being be such a vindictive, malicious, cruel, selfish bh, is beyond my comprehension.
Juvenile I know, but how about putting together some sort of Facebook page to document and detail this contemptible journey of pain she has put your brother through, and is now going to put your family through?
I'm pretty sure there are thousands of people out there who would also be as disgusted at this woman as we all are in PH.
I understand why you think this would be a good idea, but in reality it is not.Juvenile I know, but how about putting together some sort of Facebook page to document and detail this contemptible journey of pain she has put your brother through, and is now going to put your family through?

......does he need to lose his mother to? ......
Seriously, I think he does, she is poison. I'll say no more though, I don't want to derail this sad thread.
Very very sad news and RIP Sam, I always hoped for a better outcome than this, but always feared the worsted. I do hope his son gets to read this thread and the previous one in due course. Taking some consolation in what a brave and descent human being his Dad was. Good luck to Sam's family for the future as all that's matters now is his son and keeping his memory alive.
Very sad story. Obviously I haven't read the other threads your brother posted (nor do I want to). But if I could be obnoxious enough to give one piece of advice - don't show his son the threads. You want him to remember his dad as someone who loved him and who was a great man. Having him read about such an awful situation he was in is not going to help the lad. The mother sounds like a truly evil piece of work - but the lad will work that out for himself. If he doesn't it will only taint his fathers memory if he is conflicted between what he reads and how he feels.
That aside I hope you and the family are doing okay. I really feel for you, as someone with three brothers and a sister I can't think about anything as awful as seeing one of them go through what you had too. I know that sounds a bit hollow coming from a randomer on the internet.

It was more to show the lad that his Dad truly loved him and did all he could to stay in touch with him as it appeared that he had not been allowed this and was let down time and again, they were also worried that his son was fed untruths about his Dad (we only have one side of this of course but not sure what Sam had to gain by lying tbh). For this alone he should have the chance to read these threads when he is old enough to choose. That aside I hope you and the family are doing okay. Like most followers of Sam's threads, I've always paused before opening, and was so saddened this time to read of his death. My sympathies are with all involved, but especially his son, who must be suffering terribly now. Being a father of a similarly aged boy myself, I can't help but picture him in the same situation, so I'm wallowing in it a bit right now!
As some others have suggested, I'd be happy to donate to a 'secure' fund for the lad.
Thanks for the update middx, and please continue to keep us updated in the future.

I have been following this thread from the start and like everyone had been hoping the update would provide good news. So saddened that it did not and my thoughts are with his family and friends.
Its such a worryingly similar story to my oldest friend who was being divorced by his wife when he was diagnosed. She realised she would get more (widows pension etc) if she was still married when he passed away so did everything to delay the divorce. His one joy was his 3 year old son who he doted on. Whilst fighting cancer she made it almost impossible for him and his family to see his child and he had to obtain a court order to do so. It was granted, he saw his son, and passed away two days later. She got her wish and now will not have to work another day in her life. I have also since found out that she is now disputing his will as wants money that was left to the child. She also still makes it very difficult for his father to see his only grandson.
There really are some evil people out there.

What a sad story, to stop a father seeing his son when he had a short time left defies belief.
I think the best we can wish for now is that she one day realises the magnitude of what she has done and lives to regret it.
I despair when I hear of unreasonable, irrational, spiteful people, there are far too many about.
