I stood next to Royston Vasey on a Tube once. He seemed quite anxious not to travel incognito.

Today I had my hair cut,
I sat in the same chair that earlier in the day Ronnie o'sullivan had sat in.
We both had our barnets cut by the same barber.

We didn't have the same style cut ..neither did I trot off to the crucible to knock some balls about.

Me and a colleague once ended up playing a game of pool against Ronnie in a member’s bar. He was playing winner stays on against everyone who thought they were in with a slightest chance.

He must have used a lot of chalk on his cue as it appeared to be all round his nose, but despite this he still managed to absolutely thrash anyone who tried (including us, unsurprisingly).

I've only just found this thread and read the last 3 pages, very amusing, I will go back and read the rest at some stage. My tenuous links as follows:-

1. Once spent an enjoyable 10 minutes talking to Tom Baker (the best Dr Who imo) at our local tip, in the rain. He's a lovely chap.
2. Had a beer and a chat with Eddie Izzard in a bar before one of his gigs. Seen him a few times, he was very funny when he was a male comedian, less so now (again imo).
3. Once got drunk with John Otway (Beware of the Flowers, Really Free) after he played a gig at my university many years ago, very funny guy and very down to earth, also one of the most entertaining gigs I've been to.
4. Many years ago I played tennis a few times against Derrick Farrant, 1952 Manx Grand Prix winner.

Admittedly these are links to tenuously famous people rather than tenuous links to famous people.

Oh and forgot this one, my step daughter once hit Des Lynham with a table tennis ball, she did no lasting damage.

I can't remember if I posted this here before but I was at a cousins wedding in 2001 and his wife is distantly related to Tracey Emin, who was there.
I didn't speak to her.
She was constantly surrounded by men, possibly on account of her low cut top. Every time I walked past I felt like I should then go and wash my hands as she gave the impression of being unclean in any way you may want to consider.
Her teeth were particularly bad I seem to remember.

An old friends dad was a Des Lynham lookalike.

Which reminds me I once had my hair cut in Norwich sat next to Mike Walker having his cut in the chair next to me. He was Norwich City manager at the time ...

We also didn't have the same style cut.

Or on account of her reputation of low morals? I knew someone who was named on her tent

Just landed from Mexico City where I was sitting 3 rows behind Tom Jones.

We had to wait for his highness to board the plane before anyone else was allowed to board (do celebrities always get this kind of treatment on BA?)

He arrived to the gate late from the lounge. This on a flight that was already 2 hours late.
Ergo, he’s a tosser hehe
It’s not unusual…
Was he heading for the green green grass of home?
If this aircraft was already running 2 hours late, then why...why....why.....delay her?
Brilliant work, PH at its finest

Used to deliver parcels to a lot of the Liverpool players in the Benitez era
Went to Jerzy Dudeks house with a box of wine (18 bottles) but told him I'll put the box down first, just incase he dropped it
He wasn't amused hehe

I delivered some stuff from Harrods to Joleon Lescott in the summer after Man City first won the Premier League. The guy is a unit, and he had some nice cars.

Darren Gough came to my house to collect his wife, he sat on the sofa and chatted. My wife used to do his wife’s nails in her home salon. She was lovely.

I worked with Maggie Aderin-Pocock’s husband. She’s the space scientist on TV. Lovely people.

Got in the way of Phillipa Forrester and her luggage trolley at Gatwick Airport in 1996.

She looked very flustered and annoyed...

..but still lovely love

I sat opposite Simon Callow on Eurostar to Brussels once. Back in the day when civil servants could travel business class. He was quite loud on his mobile but in a fun, slightly camp actor sort of way. So I didn't mind.

I am currently sitting in a chair that was sat in by a bloke who showed Andy Street around a factory. (our product is "never knowingly undersold")
