I've bought a few jackets from the same London shop that Arnold Schwarzenegger gets his jackets from , although I doubt very much he pays for them .
Paul McCartney owns a house in the same town as I live in , as do a few ex footballers .
About 18 years ago, a friend of mine sold some luggage to Mike Tyson. Well, he paid for it but he wasn't there..

His minders popped into Selfridges and produced Mikes's credit card. My mate had to phone the bank for authorisation.

The person from the bank asked him "Do you know the credit card holder?", to which my mate answers...Yes, it's Mike Tyson's.

biggrinbiggrin

Well, it did say tenuous...

I have more.

At the time John Howard was Prime Minister of Australia, I had to do his brother’s office move, including take artworks back to his house - address and phone numbers hand written on his business card. So, met the PM’s sister-in-law and got her mobile numberbiggrin

One of my patients is one of twelve full-time live in domestic staff for a multi multi billionaire on Kensington Palace Gardens. She said the chap is very nice and takes good care of his staff.

If they are rich, but not famous, they don't fit the criteria of the thread.

If they are famous, then name them, otherwise it also doesn't fit the criteria of the thread.

I was once walking down Wardour Sreet one day in the late sixties when I nearly got bumped over by Paul McCartney, who was emerging from a doorway at a rate of knots, dressed in an Afghan jacket and clutching several canisters of cine film under his arm.

There was a brief whoops, sorry mate, moment and a bit of dancing round each other on the pavement. I have often wondered if they were the rolls of film of the Magical Mystery Tour that he was reputed to have put down and lost somewhere.

André Rieu is one of my close ish neighbours.

I see him walking his dog most weekends. His grandkids go to the same primary school as my daughter.

Next door neighbour's daughter is a relatively famous Dutch comedienne. I can't remember her name!

I used to deliver parcels to Paul McCartney's brother and also to the footballers in said area.

I drove Andrew Lloyd Webber's wife around a horse show in a Golf cart once. Is that tenuous enough?
The jumps must have been difficult. 4 faults.
I wouldn't mind if she was interested in show jumping, but all she wanted to do was watch the bloody dressage.

Since I am anonymous (this is not a challenge to PH CID to identify me) and the patient's name has not been disclosed, it's probably safe for me to identify said billionaire. Lakshmi Mittal.

Famous for:
having best house on the street `(subjective)
spending 50m on daughter's wedding
speaking to said employee in her native language (which could be English.....don't read too much into this)
Son gave 15m to great ormond st hospital. Biggest ever charitable donation to the hospital, at least at the time.

Paul McCartneys son used to come into the cinema I worked in when I was a teenager. He would look at the sweets to make sure they didn't have gelatin in then pay with his Coutts debit card. I think they used live out near Rye. Roger Daltrey lived nearby too and he cam in to watch Boogie Nights on his Tod.

Natasha McElhone of Ronin fame at Cafe Nero in Chiswick High Road. She turned and bumped into me and I spilled my coffee. In the version of events I have edited in my mind over the 10 years since it happened, I think we had a "moment" and will each forever wonder what would have happened if we had stopped and had a chat. I could tell she was into me.. laugh
I have done a couple of jobs for Natascha and I can assure you that she is a lovely lady.

Ye olde Fabs working on MMT in Wardour Street, November '67, they spent about eight weeks editing it... wink

Fascinating! I was on my way to the Marquee club at the time, but I know there were/are lots of film production companies in Wardour Street.

Was it a cinema in Ashford? My brother knew someone who worked there are Paul McCartney's "people" called to blag some free tickets for him. My brothers mate then called my brother and asked if he fancied sitting next to Paul during the film!
