Steve Wright.

While he was revolutionary in his day, it isn't his day anymore - and hasn't been for a very long time. Yet he still seems to think it's 1985. What the **** is "Serious Jocking"??????
Don't forget that it's "Jockin"...

Jeremy Vine on radio 2 today, live from Biggin Hill.

His words Biggin Hill is not an Airport anymore! WRONG. (What he should have said is "it's no longer an RAF Airfield anymore) rolleyes

Then the classic, "I'm standing next to a Spitfire, the cockpit is tiny I can see the ejector seat" Really! Well the last time I looked Spitfires never had an ejector seat" banghead

Pratt of the First order, Why do journalists always get it so, so wrong?

A personal bugbear is people on the F1 forums who speak in "TV graphics" eg "If HAM does X...", or "when MSC did Y...", "ALO must be getting frustrated...", "VET is getting the better of RAI...".

Why? Just why?
Because it's less typing when posting during a live race where posts are time sensitive?

I don't do it myself, but it doesn't particularly bother me when other people do it because I know who they are referring to as it's same as the letters being used on the TV screen and the Live Timing and I have an IQ that is in triple figures. wink

While on Radio. I'd nominate The Listening Project on Radio 4. Utter waste of air time.
colonel, I agree. Patronising, look arn't we wonderful type of guests. Why do we need to know the story of two sisters who suddenly realised they look alike and fancy the local vicar? (exagerated for effect.)

BTW, are you related to the late colonel Sanders of fried chicken fame?

People who don't know of or enjoy listening to the theme tune from Airwolf.
rofl

Absolutely.

But, even worse, is the fact that a current TV advert is using the music. So an entire generation are going to think of the tune as "that tune from that advert" rather than "the awesome theme song to the awesome Airwolf".

(Honourable mention goes to the theme for Street Hawk, written and performed by Tangerine Dream)
I draw the line at it being used to advertise the aerial delivery of cereal bars to dizzy bints by jetpack-equipped tree rats.

Signs over the Tesco hand dryers, telling me they're efficiently reducing their carbon footprint, while the skin on my hands cracks open in the flow of cold air.

Every single one of the recent adverts that have the soundtrack of a young woman (I imagine in a gingham frock, sitting at a piano in a farmhouse)covering an 80's song.

Or even worse, same kind of adverts but the singer is some kind of Jack Johnson clone, singing the same kind of dreary crap.

I'd never heard of this program so after all the fuss here I YT'd the theme tune. Not feeling it guys, it just sounds like dated 80's synth pop.

Errr... that's because it is from the 1980's. It's a theme tune for a 1980's TV show.

Am I missing something here?

Seriously, you've never heard of Airwolf? Don't take this the wrong way, but are you either really young or a little older? It's the same era as the A Team, Knight Rider etc - I kind of thought the theme tunes were known to 99.9% of the western world, in the same way most people would know True Blue by Madonna, or Bad by MJ!

Speaking of which, a link to the A team theme for anyone who misses it smile

I'm 51. I spent the 80's either working like a dog or getting out any free time I had, watched very little telly.
I know the A Team and Knight Rider of course, don't recall ever sitting down to watch either of them though, I've probably seen more references to the A Team than I've ever seen actually clips of it (Family Guy etc). I had honestly never heard of Airwolf except on here.

I've never really been much into telly or films, haven't been to the pictures since 1989 and don't have a clue who most modern actors are when people talk about them on here.

Bit confused here. Surely Airwolf, A-Team and Knight Rider were childrens' programmes?
