"You see your weight through the narrow tyres pushes them deep into peat and mud and widens the path, eventually ruining it for all users"
I believe the bikes should have said "Actually the perceived wisdom is that bikes make trails deeper, pedestrians make them wider."Because while I dislike being pulled up on something I shouldn't be doing. Being told I shouldn't be doing it for the wrong reason is really beyond the pale.

National Ttrust sees bikes and Fell races on a par, not walkers. But you know best. No matter, you shouldn't be up there anyway. NT Peak District (Kinder): "Cyclists have therefore been banned already from most routes across the peat bogs and fell race organisers are beginning to face restrictions upon the routes they can use."

Oh poor you, my heart bleeds. But hopefully now you've been told again it may be sinking in a bit.MartG said:
The way the software used for this forum repeatedly tries to correct the English spelling of several words
The forum software doesn't have a spell checker. It's probably your browser doing that. Check your browser's language settings - it'll be set to something like American English rather than British English. JonRB said:

The need for TV stations to announce things along the lines of "the following programme contains adult themes", "contains scenes of violence from the start", "contains scenes of an adult nature". Doc Martin last week had the announcement "this programme contains scenes of a medical procedure".
Also the news presenters who state (usually about a press conference where cameras are present) - "the following report contains flashing images"

In fairness, if you have Photosensitive Epilepsy then you probably quite want to know that bit of information, much in the same way as if you are violently allergic to nuts you might be quite glad of a menu mentioning which dishes contain nuts. JonRB said:

You're a tiny, tiny, tiny proportion of the population if flashing lights causes a fit. That being said I'm sure you'd be grateful for the warning. I wonder why they don't say it before films, documentaries etc.
The news without Flashing ?....maybe the condition removes the ability to expect the fking obvious as well ?Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
