I have no idea what this means, so am going to assume that it is a euphemism for masturbation.

Driven by a desire to see how our ancestors lived, I opted to make a cheese and pickle sandwich. Make, that is. Make by myself. From raw materials - including bread, cheese and pickle - using hand tools.

smile

The pickle, a well known brand I might add, had a 20mm length of onion skin in it. Unpalatable doesn't begin to describe it. However did they cope? I certainly couldn't.

I want to buy something on Amazon and have it delivered direct to the post office for me to collect at my convenience.
However, Amazon say it's too big to be delivered there, (44cmx25cmx26cm).

So I'll have to order it for delivery to my home address, when I know I won't be in, and then take the little red 'we called but you weren't in' card to the post office...to collect the thing that Amazon say is too big to be delivered direct to the post office.

No local Amazon Lockers to you that would be more convenient? The nearest one to me is at the library in town, but there is also one at the sports centre next to my office

Currently, Lockers can accept parcels up to 42 cm x 35 cm x 32 cm in dimension

My 'thing' is too big by 2cm....it's 2017 and even Amazon still can't figure out the 'last mile' of online shopping in a way which suits the customer.

Going on holiday tomorrow to the south of France. Case is jammed into the back of the understairs cupboard and will be a pain to get out. FML.

Taking the McLaren on a long Euro trip on Friday, spent all of Sunday washing and waxing so I will be hitting the mainland in pristine condition. Got loads of building work going on at home so having nowhere to put it I took it to my Mums place, parked it on the drive and put on it's bespoke and very expensive outdoor cover.

This morning the Tracker people kept phoning me at work "Your alarm is going off constantly". Rushed home to find for some weird reason the cover is causing the alarm to trigger, so I had to take it off.

Car is now sitting in the pissing rain getting nice and dirty for my trip. A monstrous fking calamity, an outrage.

I recently moved to a 3 storey townhouse with a basement. I'm already powerfully built, so no issues there, but I now have to dominate twice as many flights of stairs. frown

Anyone got a solution that doesn't involve frozen sausages?

I just have a designated safe place for them to leave anything they deliver which is entirely convenient for me. Either that, or Louise who lives over the road who is generally at home during the day will accept the parcel and I grab it from her when I get home from work.

Or you could have it delivered to your office?

It's a similar story with the post office.

If I get a parcel via royal mail (delivered by our local postie) and i'm out - it get's taken to the sorting office responsible for my area. It's not the closest one (being almost 10 miles away - when I have one half that distance) nor the most convenient to get to as it's in Chester city centre. I can of course arrange for it to be delivered to my local post office (which is a little over a mile away) - but only after waiting another couple of days and paying a handling fee.

Parcels delivered by Parcelforce on the other hand (a subsidiary of royal mail) get taken straight to my local post office if i'm out. confused

You can tell Royal Mail used to be in the public sector can't you hehe

depending on what type of courier it is there are some that let you deliver it to a local business (like a newsagent/off license), could do that?
