The record for march is 25/26ish. So plenty of room for improvement still.
Yep - current temps are distinctly average, it just feels so much better after the cloudy wet winter.

I think El Niño type forecasting might fall more in to Schmalex's understanding, but my limited knowledge suggests an El Niño can lead to warmer temps in the Carribean - this could drive a stronger jet stream, and we all now understand what that means.

However, I think El Niño can also help create some high pressure systems over Europe. Leading to potential beasts from the East wink

In a nutshell - it won't drive a single weather pattern and is likely to lead to more extreme events. Low pressure plus cold over Europe = Scmalex's wet dream of battleground snow...

I'm on gardening leave - it's been really tough:

Looks like another week or so (at least) of pleasant weather, but also a reminder that it's not too late for a spot of winter to actually turn up (but knowing our luck it's more likely to be an Atlantic storm):

Puggit - I've got a flying lesson next Tuesday/Wednesday and I need good visibility and ideally no clouds. Flying from Colchester - Cambridge - Norwich - Colchester.

What are my chances getting good weather?

Thanks smile
Next week it will be high pressure. Can't be certain about clouds or fog at this point...

Weather going downhill towards the next weekend. Nothing of concern, but no where near as pleasant. Good potential for the high pressure to return, and those of us in the South could hardly notice the poorer weather arriving.

Looks like a Scandinavian high forming later this week <sigh>, so might be a bit cooler, but settled.

A nice weekend beckons...

I take it we are going to get some backlash from this storm that is forming over the atlantic and heading towards the US?
The Scandi high may be enough to block it smile

It's going to get cold during the second half of the week, and then warm up again with a pleasant weekend. Not as hot as we've seen though.
