Abandoned dogs/Gypsy trick?

I had a drive done (seriously) many years ago, by some Gypsys who had some tarmac left from a job they had done "just down the road"....
Surprisingly, they were very polite, efficient and did a first class job.
Paid cash and off they went.
Don't tar them all with the same brush.
Your lucky they did do a good job, because if you had picked fault they would have buggered you, your dog and then burnt your house down. Just saying like.Surprisingly, they were very polite, efficient and did a first class job.

Don't tar them all with the same brush.

You did well to keep on walking, it's an old bumming trick, 4-5 swarthy travellers would have been hiding in the bushes ready for some man on man bum action.
Also watch out for two canaries tied to a traffic cone, or a badger glued to a cabinet.
fk, this thread is so funny i have just pissed my pants. Also watch out for two canaries tied to a traffic cone, or a badger glued to a cabinet.
Did the OP get to the bottom of this?
I've just had a gypsy at the door, with two dogs and a ginger kid in the pickup, wanting to tarmac my drive, with tar left over from repairing the M1, for fifty quid, buy my car for fifty quid and do my roof for fifty quid.
This all sounds a bit iffy, just wondered if the OP can describe the dogs he saw, just in case it's the same ones, before I give them the green light.

This guy on YouTube seems to collect traveler based videos

Have a look at the other vids on his channel, it's actually interesting to watch

We have recently had a two week holiday in Ireland. You would not believe the number of Irish who have never seen a Red Setter, nor recognised the breed. To be fair most of the local dogs we saw were either collie x or JR x - or they appeared straight out of Gypsy Weddings
One evening we stopped in Sligo for a while. There was a clear message from those we met. Do not leave the dogs unattended for one minute - nor leave them alone in the car. That said - everyone who approached us was genuine and loved the dogs.
