I knew a teacher who was diagnosed with cancer, then met up with an ex pupil and started making crystal meth from a camper van.....wait a minute
Does he hang with a guy who runs a fast food chicken joint? I think I know him too...I caught up with an old friend a few months ago. Last spoke to him probably 15 years before,he's now not allowed near the internet, he has been detained for assault, gbh, theft, criminal damage, car related stuff and drugs.
Also knew someone who's murdered. Same guy did 2 tours of a french jail for being caught with fake cash and more than his own personal amount of fags and baccy. Id say he's done more prison time than free time in the last 30years.
Getting married buying houses and have a kid calmed my dodgyish ways.
Getting mortgages, loans and insurance is probably quite expensive/impossible with a criminal record.

Are we talking violence, or plain criminality ?
I've worked in Runcorn, and have on occasion, put my fingers in my ears and said "Nah nah naha nah I'm not listening, stop talking, I don't want to know, please shut the fk up"
However, we had a dinner party, invited 3 of my wife's friends, and their husbands. A few weeks later, this bloke, Rob, who I'd only ever met when he was drunk at parties, attempted to kill his 16 year old step son, but his wife's ex husband managed to stop him. By getting himself murdered, whilst his son fled, with blood pouring from him.
He's doing time, but I understand has made threats from prison. Seemed like a nice, if maverick type of chap.

One very good mate has done time for blackmail (got ripped off in a business deal and tried the wrong way to sort it out)
An acquaintance has done time for demanding money with menaces ( protection racket) he has suggested whilst very drunk involvement in murder.
Another acquaintance will be getting done for approx 12 murders sometime soon.
Various other people I know are guilty of similar serious offences.
Twelve murders? Care to point us to the direction of that in the national press, as lacking as their details might be?An acquaintance has done time for demanding money with menaces ( protection racket) he has suggested whilst very drunk involvement in murder.

http://tinyurl.com/pkss7q6The above suggests 21 not 12 although he was acquitted at the last trial so maybe he's not the dodgiest person I know after all.
I also know the person accused of trying to murder him, the woman named as one that he's alleged to have murdered and my mate had a fight with one of the other people he's alleged to have murdered a couple of weeks before he was killed.
My former PE teacher is in prison for child molestation now. Never liked him, and looking back it seems pretty obvious he was a wrongun.
While I can't say I know him, I also once picked up a hitchhiker who had just got out of prison for killing his wife and her lover. I think was just about the first person he'd spoken to. Very weird. I described it somewhere else on here a couple of years ago.

I've had a wide range of colleagues and friends who would have been behind bars a long time ago, and probably for a long time, had they carried out their "actions" in the UK.
Everything from turning back the odometer reading in cars in his lot, to one who shot away an intruder's legs below the knees with a shotgun (he found the thief cowering under a counter of his girlfriend's pawn shop, so fair enough).
Several instances of (what you'd refer to as) ABH, GBH and murder would also be thrown into the mix.
However, the only one which ever involved any time behind bars was a university mate who spent a night in a cell, having been stopped while driving drunk. He was sent on his way the next morning.
They did things very differently in SA in the 20th century.

Worked with a fella in the USA who became involved with the Greek mafia after moving in across the street from one family and befriending one of them.
He ended up doing some work for them and lived it up in new York for a little while before marrying and having a kid.
He nearly served time being caught involved with luxury car racketeering and only missed prison due to the evidence being thrown out after it was determined to be obtained illegally (searched without warrant).
He decided he did not want a part of that life anymore and was getting tired of having police cars parked outside his house or following him, so packed it in after the "family" moved out of the area.
I asked him if he had murdered anyone but he refused to talk about it.

My brother was introduced to Nick Leeson shortly after he got out of jail & before he was at Galway FC. He outlined a business proposal, my brother listened patiently & said 'the problem is Nick, that your reputation precedes you...'.
Nick Leeson? Didn't he have a birthday recently? My wife's, dad's cousin got put away for 8 years for attempted murder.
I knew a guy through the TT Forum who was a customer of mine and lived around the corner, he was a trainee accountant and lied saying that he had passed his exams, got promoted and used his positions to rinse various local companies of thousands of pounds - over £100k allegedly. He is now serving time and it was in the local papers.

I had a mate who was definately what you'd call dodgy. He looked like a combination of Bez from the Happy Mondays and the lead singer from the Stereo MC's. He'd been in prison before for various theft (bandit machines were his specialty.) When I knew him he was OK, a little older but he seemed to want to turn his life around so moved off his dodgy estate and away from his family who were all nutcases. He had a very hard life although a lot of it was his own doing.
After a while, he slipped back into his old ways and more and more dodgy characters would appear at his house. He was a bit of an alchohlic and ended up having randoms over for drinking sessions. When my ex fell pregnant, I felt I could no longer be around him as he was getting back into the drugs and drink. I broke off contact and some years later found out he committed suicide. He'd always suffered from depression and couldn't hold down a job.

Some cracking stories, including one that makes The Hangover tiger story look positively tame. He bought a cub in a bar, although it was pretty well grown. The following day the drugs used to sedate it had obviously worn off and he returned to his flat to find his housekeeper bleeding a lot and a chunk of her leg missing.
Best story so far! Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
