It's a funny old world, we can no longer make comments that might upset somebody on here, yet over on the Cliff Richard thread all sorts of people are being labelled as potential paeodophiles/ molesters.
Not a single report.

If you think it bad, why not?
Well after being preached to about the rules and saying things on here that might be deemed offensive, you are allowing potentially naming and shaming on that thread.

I know you don't read every post but don't tell me you are not keeping a close eye on that thread, which means you are effectively condoning the naming of individuals with no evidence other than dislike or wild speculation.
You miss my point.

You think that posts are inappropriate. Presumably you also think they are someone else's problem as you've done nothing about it.

Yet you then complain nothing has been done about them.

The report button is 1 click. 2 with the submit.

If you can't even extend that much effort, why write paragraphs bemoaning nothing has been done?
I have no desire to report the other thread, you know what is going on over there. My point is that curtailing this thread whilst leaving that one running in the way it is seems like double standards, and very inconsistent modding.
The Mods haven't had a report about that thread, so why would they be looking at it?

They have had reports about this one (evidently) so it is now coming under scruity.

If you think a post in a thread is out of order, then you need to report it.

ETA - I'm in complete agreement that the comments by Kinky with his mod hat on about this thread miss the whole point of this thread & there is no way that it would stop people from posting/joining.

I'm more than happy to hit report on all the threads that I think would tho thumbupwink

I'm just playing devil's advocate really, but isn't the problem that people are taking the mickey out of other threads, rather than joining in with them? Wouldn't the grown-up thing be to tell people on those threads what you think of them?
The issue then becomes you getting called a troll and semi/perma banned for trolling when your likely to be just calling a spade a spade.

People don't like being called out on their wrongdoings or the fact that something they may have said has come across as cockish or insulting.

As said before some of the lunatics that infest the NP&E forum are far more offensive to the average person than anything I've seen in this thread but there is no rule about not being a lunatic so even if I did report them, what could I report them for?

Posts such as (names changed to protect the 'innocent'):

someone said:
The UK will no longer be Great Britain, it'll be a muslim extremist hell hole.
and

someoneelse said:
Enoch Powell's speech became true a good few years ago I'm afraid.

This country 50 years from now? It will be unrecognisable if something isn't done quickly. It definitely will be no Great Britain!
I'm all for freedom of speech, these guys are entitled to their views, but is describing something someone wrote as cringeworthy really that bad?

The impression I got is that each post has a report button. If someone reports a post the mods will check it and remove as necessary.

They are not proactive it seems so as long as you don't quote the post of a sensitive soul on here then it should be fine. So far most people who have seen their own post on here have been good natured about being featured (myself included).

I reported that gas chamber one to see if anything would happen, and it's gone, so some credit is due.

On the other hand I reported one a while back about basically the same thing - Zyklon B for travellers - and nowt happened, so meh, not perfect.

Not that I go round dobbing you all in or anything biggrin

They don't do anything as right wing middle aged men are the target audience.

Don't see that one going too bad - she was talking about "we" so doesn't seem too many desperate people jumping in to help to see if they can go out with her.

The mods did remove that one "what celebrity would you like to be proved a pedo" - slightly politically incorrect to say the least, hehe

Only due to the spurs fans arriving en masse and adding their usual level of sophistication to the thread.
