Update: BMW are stupid. This is the main music screen, where the track selection is NEXT and PREVIOUS. Pricks.

Ignore the music selection, not allowed to change it when I grab lifts!

The entertainment system ‘wheels’ seems to be different on Audis and BMWs in terms of clockwise up/down. I always get it wrong. My old man had an Audi a decade ago so I kinda got used to that way. We both have BMWs and my friends bar Audis now and I still seem to get it it wrong first time more often than not.

That is the Apple Car play screen, not BMW's screen.

We should have an EU Standard for these things

Not wanting to show my age here, but it always used to annoy me* that the window winder handles on the company Ford Sierra worked the "wrong" way - or at least the opposite way to all the other cars I'd driven at the time.

(* Just stopped myself from writing "winds me up" )

Yep had that at the last apartment i bought. First come first serve in terms of car park space when buying the property most likely. Space was then included in land registry plans etc.

It's seeded. 17 plays 23 whilst, on the other side of the draw, 19 plays 21.

The square screen in a form over function circular centre console makes my teeth itch more than anything else. Couldn’t sit behind that

Had the pleasure of driving the other halfs car a bit at the weekend, and noticed this on the steering wheel controls.

So, normally I'd say that it's:

Volume UP
Volume DOWN
NEXT track
PREVIOUS track

But, BMW in their infinite wisdom have arranged the MFSW buttons the other way around, so you get:

Volume NEXT
Volume PREVIOUS
UP track
DOWN track

To add; it's actually the DOWN arrow to go to the next song, where I'd assume it'd be the UP.

Who the bloody hell signed off on this!?

And I thought it was bad when they switched all the controls from the left side of the wheel (e46, e39) to the right side (F10).

I’d have popped that button off and tried to rotate it 90degrees by now !

Let me know how you get on with that !

You think that thought hasn't crossed my mind!?

Annoyingly, there are no more detailed diagrams than this one, so I can't see if it'd be possible from a bracket/fixing point of view.

Do it!

The idrive wheel is good but you rotate left into the playlist and if you continue left it doesn’t scroll down the list, oh no, now you have to scroll right.

Other than that the ergonomics are great and one of the most fun cars to drive
