That's a misconception current is the unit used to describe energy in an electrical system

Doesn’t make my teeth itch quite so much because there must be a reason... the door frame looks like it’s had recent work, but the staircase looks like it’s been there a while too.

The strange bit is the level of the door is lower than the topstep of the stairs - so the floor inside whatever room it leads into is not the same height as the landing for the stairs either.
