Seriously serious OTness; stuff that I've just thought of strongly suggests insurance weasels may have attached sub-clauses to 'other vehicles' clauses so it doesn't apply to vehicles owned by immediate family? I may have imagined it though.

The jobby tank's gone diffy; poo vent pipe clogged with poo/rust composite. Yours truly gets to shift it with the aid of a FBH and pent up stress. FML.
OT: Yes some do but not mine or Dads (I checked) haven't checked sisters... because she lives oop norf

I haven't had to work on any waste/black water systems yet... unless you count connecting a bypass from a galley sink to a seacock... not very wiffy job (TFFT)

It's like a dry version of the Foo Fighters The Pretender in a much smaller studio without the Riot Police.

Okay, it's not that similar.

The RAC have sent me a free gift today.
A nice new tax disc holder.

That will come in handy when I tax the car in December.

My, you have so much to look forward to. yuck

When on charter boats you sometimes have strip and rebuild toilet pumps, those worm drive ones in the rubber sleeve, while banging through waves or in a rolly anchorage. While trying to clear the blockages, every time you hit a wave, a nice squirt of contents hits you in the face. All this while hanging upside down with your head in the bilge.

Nice. vomit

The black tank on Silver Darling needed a new discharge pump fitted (internal tank pump of course) luckily I was busy and managed to farm it of to Nathan (sorry Nat) hehe

ION: is £182.15 for a full "Gold" service on my Audi A4 (inc sparkplugs, clutch & brake fluids, synthetic oil etc) a good price?

No need to display a tax disc after October.

Tried to buy one the other day and there is no choice. Had to buy an expensive one frown

Not had to do anything on the black side yet of the boat I assist with, but removing 45 years worth of accumulated crap and gunk from the backs and bottoms of the diesel tanks was a pretty horrible job! Toilet jobs have so far been left to the owner to sort, apart from a hull fitting for the aft baby Blake.

Wonder what I'm doing on Monday scratchchin

Probably masking up Dorris ready for her decks and hull to be grit blasted... maybe something new has arrived whilst I was enjoying my day off. Who knows, it's all part of the fun biggrin

The company I work for was, until recently, jointly owned by Saipem and Doris. It is now 100% owned by Doris.

Unfortunate.

From a short time working in a boatyard in my teens, I can say that old diesel tanks are fking disgusting.

After a while you get used to the smell of stale diesel and the gunge/diesel bug sludge at the bottom... still, the good news (for me) is our industrial high temp/steam pressure washer does the job in no time at all biggrin
