Because they were used to using their garage, and now they can't?

If using the garage previously was inconvenient, then why did they use it? Now they need to find somewhere else to park it/dump it with the increased risk of damage and/or theft, with the added inconvenience that may cause, added with the need to carry things (a lot by the sounds of it) from the car to the house.

But to be fair, I don't really carebyebye

well i've got a daft little garage too, that's only full of tools and camping gear etc. It wouldn't fit a car in it even if i had a bubble car. We do have a 2-car driveway however. Even if the subject of the OP has a garage and no off street parking, the guy even said "they have to then leave it anywhere there is room on the estate"..... yea pretty much. If you can't make your car fit in your garage then you probably will have to join everyone else on the estate (it sounds like) in parking on the street. Oh well. I don't understand why this is odd? Surely it is more odd to assume that because they have a garage they must only be allowed to purchase a car that fits in it. Far more weird.

It is quite easy to get dragged in to these trivial threads....

I must be odd, as I measured the garage of our current house to check the car would fit before we put an offer in laugh

To be clear, I don’t care what car they have. It’s their choice.

I just think it’s odd that they’ve changed from an X3 which was perfectly capable of transporting 2 young kids and a pushchair, and which they could park in a garage right next to their house, to an X5 which doesn’t fit in the garage. And as our new build estate doesn’t have a traditional street layout it means there are very few places close by for them to park. Which means they often have to park a few minutes walk away.

There was a horse in there once, but it bolted before we shut the door.

It's bin day today, and they have just emptied the last of the bins. The bloke across the road is currently stood on the pavement, with a sweeping brush and a watering can. He is scrubbing the outside of the bin. Because the bin is empty, it is flying about all over the place every time he puts the brush to it, and he's chasing around it like one of those blokes at the Winter Olympics curling event.

Why he is washing his bin is a mystery; this is the bin for mixed recyclables (glass, tins and plastic), so it's not like anything stinky goes inside it, let alone the outside.
