Ask but with a presumptive close, "Are you OK with a double room?"
That's exactly what I would do.

Glad I'm not the only one - she's off to meet your sister with you and you haven't yet spent the night together?!

Taking it somewhat slow is what I prefer to call it hehe

As it happens she's meeting my parents this evening... and she's already met my sister. How does a gentleman push things along without seeming like a creep?

It all depends what she's like, how old you both are and how many dates you've had etc, I just find it slightly strange that she's meeting your family before you've had sex or even spent the night together. She might be really crap in bed and then you'll have to explain to mummy when she asks where the nice girl went that you got rid because she was crap in bed tongue out

Somewhat slow!? How bad is the situation, at the risk of this sounding like a crude playground discussion what 'base' have you got to?

I'll let you into a little secret, women love sex too. Nothing creepy about trying to bed a lady. It only gets creepy when you try to hide your intentions wink

Tonka's suggestion of Prosecco is a good one, romantic and thrifty. Few bottles of that, some decent music and work your way through the bases.

She's not a Jehovah's Witness is she?

Book a double. remind her it's cheaper than two singles when you split the bill.

OK, some background info. I still live with my ex, house is sold and everything is going through. It is however not the most amicable of splits, new girl knows all, stupid as it may he I've been brutally honest.

That alone is probably a good enough reason for her to want to take it slow but on top of that she's fiercely independent and has trouble letting people in due to previous crappy relationships.

We both agreed to take it slow, we are both early-mid 30's and as for what 'base' I've got to, what base is a snog?

If you're both being up front like this and there are some complications (when aren't there) then carry on doing what your doing and talk it over.

I like the presumptive close suggested.

Good luck fella!

You can always use the line "we don't have to do anything" hehe

Well I for one, given the circumstances you now outline, think you're dealing with the situation very sensibly !

Christ, I've just actually laughed out loud at that. Normally that would be fine, but I'm in the bar on my own. For some reason people have moved away from me.

Anyway, the previous poster must be mental to even think about hooking up with someone else while his ex is still such a prominent feature in his life. So must his potential new girlfriend. Which can only be a klaxon of a warning sign for how bonkers she might turn out to be.

Well I quite lime the way it's going. For the first time in my life I'm getting to know someone rather then just jump in to bed and fall in love then finding out they're mental. It's nice to be getting to know if she's mental before going the whole hog and getting in to relationship type stuff. Although, I would rather quite like some 'diddling' and I think we're getting there. The presumptive close worked and the double hotel room is booked woohoo

As for mental, she knows about the ex and everything, she has admitted that things would probably had gone fatser had the situation not been as it is. If you really want to hear about mental, here's what the ex has done.

The entire week after I split with her was spent begging for me to come back, on the 8th day she was set up on a blind date and started seeing this chap straight away. But time at home was still spent telling me I'd ruined her life and how happy she was with me. After a month the she professes her love to new bloke and asks him to move in with her, changed her entire appearance, changed her likes/dislikes etc. It's actually been sad to watch her be so desperate but also part of the reason to split with her.

She say "We can just cuddle, I like cuddles"

She thinks " Once my backside is nestling in his groin he will be as stiff as a poker and I'm in for a real good seeing to"

He says" Yes that would be nice, just a cuddle I promise"

He thinks " Blimey, I'm in here, there's no way I won't at least be copping a feel and if nature takes its course and the blue pill works I may even gain entry"

What actually happens is usually a night of coyness from the woman who within an hour turns into an absolute animal, puts your shirt on in the morning, makes you a coffee and leaves you sat there worrying that she now wants commitment when you just want to put the TV on and get home.
