Why do women insist on only using photos on their profile they have taken using snapchat filters or photos of themself that after you meet them you instantly realise the photos were taken 15-20 years ago?

I used bumble for a while but was surprised at how many women complained that none of the guys were making the first move :/

Indeed, are we expected to believe that she has picked him based entirely on a 300 word ramble? He must look like Pitt/Clooney (or be very good looking) to get her to even contemplate reading such a long message, and not get deleted/ignored straight away!

That sort of negates a large part of the article, as he would have already passed the "picture" test anyway. What he wrote would just be supplementary to what he looks like.

In any event, she has not even gone on a date with him yet, so how is this even a story?

Only caught a part of it, as my iPod battery died, but internet dating and it’s pitfalls were being discussed on Jeremy Vine Radio 2 today.

May be on iplayer.

/sigh. I love and loath this thread.

‘All women are Unicorn Hunters’ - Not in my case. It’s been said, by a man, that I don’t need a man in my life. And that’s a problem for men. I’m savvy and skilled enough to do things for myself. Obviously there leaves an intimate part, but that been filled for the past five years by a ‘friend with benefits’. So it’s not a unicorn I hunt it’s an equal. And that’s rarer.

As for women posting false photos/good light/old pics... Men do it too.

‘Likes to stay in shape’ - pays for a gym membership been twice in twelve months.
‘Can cook a meal or two’ - Spag Bol and Chicken Curry (sauces from a jar).
‘Independent’ - knows the local takeaway number off by heart.
‘Popular’ - on first name terms with the takeaway delivery drivers.
‘Family man’ - Mum does his washing and cooks him dinner twice a week.
‘Loves a good project/renovating house’ - lives in a st hole. Mum cooks and cleans for him.
‘Seperated’ - still lives with and sleeps in same bed with wife.

I could go on.

I imagine that, after five years, she knows one way or the other and, whichever it is, it's acceptable.

Very funny, and probably true. But do you not consider yourself to be the Unicorn?
