I refuse to sign (back) up to Bumble, and have a queue of 8 ‘waiting’....... FFS
£11 a month for 6 months?! My 25 'waiting' matches can stay waiting too. Tinder at £5 a month or whatever is much better value.

In can be worth it, I found my wife on Match. Mind, the wedding cost £18k, so that kind of scuppers the value for money argument!

I don't really get it tho.

With Bumble, you've set your criteria and have swiped left or right accordingly.

At the moment, I've exhausted all my 'bees', so any in the queue are likely to be outside my criteria, so why would I pay to see them?

Do you have to pay even for the app based ones like tinder and happn now?

Part of the attraction of the free ones were that they were frequented by gutter scutter that would fulfil every sexual request after a 2 for 1 cocktail at Be At One. The other types headed for the paid for sites and so you knew were you stood.

Depends how much you care/what you want from it? If its just a bit of fun once in a while then its not worthwhile. If you're genuinely looking for something serious then I can see the point. I would guess the majority of Tinder/Happn/Bumble users dont pay? Are most people therefore 'freakishly tight' and 'odd'?

Dont assume that everyone on here is pushing 40 and desperate for something long term and serious. Some people are just willing to have some fun when and how it drops into their lap!

EDIT the more i think about it, the stranger your post seems. The apps like bumble and tinder are advertised as free apps, mainly aimed at younger users who probably dont want to or cant pay. Calling people 'odd' for not paying is much much odder than not paying in the first place!

If you just want a shag you can get that on free tinder/bumble easy enough. Paying implies you want to be more choosy or be more efficient rather than just spray and pray!

Do women have to pay for match too?

If so, does it attract a better class? or not.

Decided to come of both Match and Tinder. - had some great times and some horrid times on both!

Now putting the effort in to a woman who I met on a Meetup evening. Seem to to have it off it and text and speak constantly after initially meeting in the local pub at a event and have since met for a coffee and done my local pubs quiz on Wednesday.

Meet-up there’s no pressure and is more enjoyable.

Can see where this is headed already. The moment you try to get it on with her she'll retreat in shock and say "sorry, I must have been giving you the wrong signals, I just want us to be friends". yes

Standard pof for most, few messages then drop off the face of the earth or agree to meet and no message afterwards. Might try the real world for a bit.

Well!

After breaking up with the nutter who lives at my house about a month and half ago.....long story.

I signed up to Bumble.......

The second match after a few days is my "the one that got away" from nearly 10 years ago! First love. A beautiful & intelligent girl.

I really dont know whether to laugh or cry! She has sent the first message before it expired. But I really dont know what to do, I was crazy about her. But I could really do without falling for her all over again and getting the wrong idea about whats on the cards. Also although I'm chuffed to not be with the recent nutter any more, my life is not exactly sorted right now. Living in temporary rented (friends holiday place) and still helping the nutter move out of house before selling it. So still in almost daily contact with said nutter, paying for 2 houses and helping nutter with moving costs.

I suppose I'm worried that right now my life hasn't really got substantially better in the past 10 years and this ex I know has been all over the world working and stuff. When we got together 10 years ago I was the more successful and wordly one. I guess the tables have turned and I dont feel very impressive. It shouldn't matter, but its a confidence thing. I need to man up, but I wish the timing was just a couple of months down the line.
