Cumbria/Lake District: woke up about an hour ago to a proper winter wonderland!
It's several inches deep and a really good covering on everything, roads included.
All the Schools are closed, the local kids are out playing in it, traffic is in chaos, the police look like they don't know where to start, and I've just emailed work to say I'm working from home.
My mate has just texted me suggesting we get my Kawasaki 4x4 quad bike out and tow his 4 year old boy up the fields on a sledge at 30mph.
Perfect
And people wonder why the participants of this thread always want snow...
Mrs abandoned car in Wetheral, unable to get out of the village, I have work at 1pm at the airport so lets see how the RS6 handles the snow! It's several inches deep and a really good covering on everything, roads included.

A 4 year old kid
Fields and a sledge
Two adults with the mental age of about 4 (as all blokes can revert to at the flick of a switch)
You've pretty much just described the sort of day you remember until you die! Flippin' Awesome
Son was going from Burnley to Manchester on the bus, he sent me a text to ask what was happening in Burnley as it had taken an hour to get to the top of town and they weren't moving. Having checked the travel news it looks like he's in for a long ride on the bus, by the time he gets to college it will be time to try and get home again!
Here in Padiham it keeps snowing/sticking, then raining/melting, then snowing/sticking again.

Anyone planning to travel within a 10-mile radius of Sheffield please stay away, traffic is absolutely gridlocked everywhere and the snow is getting worse. The weather forecasters have kept saying 'not everyone will catch a shower' but it seems a pretty big shower seeing as it's been snowing for the past three hours six buses stuck on the hill up to my part of town and I doubt it'll be long before they throw in the towel and just suspend all public transport.

My son is going to Manchester from Crawshawbooth on the bus......was still stuck in Rawtenstall, two miles away twenty minutes ago, after getting on the bus at 7.15....Here in Padiham it keeps snowing/sticking, then raining/melting, then snowing/sticking again.

He's decided to get off and try to make his way back, hopefully at least one bus made it through and is on its way back to Burnley, or he has a long walk!
