A car purchase should be compulsory with winnings.
Whilst not part of the official rules of the syndicate in post 1, I think it should be strongly encouraged!

It would make for a great thread/PH article/associated celebration.

Not wishing to be a party pooper, but as I remember there were a few legal wrangling to go through when setting up a lottery consortium.
Contracts can be verbal, never mind written!

I linked to the lottery's guidance in the first post. I think I've more than covered it. Obviously, I'm relying on people's good character, but all funds will be used and tracked as best I can and I'll post proof of the tickets in advance of the draw.

I can't do much more than that! This is a decent community and I think people share that sentiment.

I've replied to everyone confirming receipt up to 20:39. But every time I type in this post it gets another hehe

We're almost at 80 members already. Great effort, folks!

I keep checking my email every 15 mins or so, give me chance hehe

We're up to 85 people now. Everyone who paid up to 21.00 should have an email confirmation/reply already. Going downstairs now to watch The Apprentice with the missus before she consumes my soul with rage.

Will try and do bits on the phone - will just be a bit slower!

Wierd.
Check you've entered everything properly - including my email. No one has reported any problems so far.

What happens if you go over 150 peeps?
I'll edit the thread once we hit 150 to say it's full. Anyone past 150 who gets in by accident will have their money refunded. Can't go picking and choosing what rules from the OP are broken!

If anyone thinks I'm desperate enough to run off with your 2 quid, then have a look at my email address. I've also in the past posted about my job - I teach English to secondary school kids in the Doncaster area. It wouldn't be too hard to find me! smile
It's not the £2 i'm worried about you running off with idea

Money sent, but a few points:

If/when it gets to 150 how are you going to stop the money coming in? I guess you'll end up sending some stragglers money back maybe.
How will we know it's hit 150?
Are you going to publish the purchased ticket numbers?

I'd love to be there when you rock up at the shop with £300 laugh
I've clarified most of this already, but don't mind explaining a bit more:

I've been provoking updates regularly so far. We're just above 90 at the moment.
I will post screenshots of all tickets between 6 and 7.30 on Friday - or earlier if all slots are taken.
I won't be going to a shop! hehe can you imagine how laborious it would be to check 150 raffle numbers and sets of main entries? It'll all be done online as it does it automatically.

Random question, this might be stupid, if your buying many tickets lucky dip online, does the system stop you from getting the same ticket twice?
Good question. If I'm honest, I don't know.

But I'll be posting screen shots of the tickets so people can check it. If it somehow duplicates it then I'll quickly buy another out of my own funds if I spot it in time.

Overall odds of winning a prize is 1 in 13

So we should win 11 times ish... I bet the OP can't wait to send 150 payments of 19p back out!

When it goes that way, I vote it goes to charity... I don't want my 19p back!

You've already agreed to something different! Read the OP again! smile Reinvestment on small wins.

Right, this will either work brilliantly or die a horrible death. I proposed it in one of the other lottery threads, but felt it needed its own. But either way, let's find out.

I'm proposing a PH syndicate for this Friday's Euromillions - £150m jackpot.

The list below highlights the rules. After having looked at the lottery's syndicate guidance (https://www.national-lottery.co.uk/c/files/syndicate-pack.pdf), it basically outlines who is responsible (me) and members names/contributions/payouts/dates. With electronic signatures being acceptable in legal documents, there's no reason why this can't work here. But, in all honesty, we just want people who are going to be good sports here. But to summarise:

- £2 per member (no multiple entries: keeps things simple)
- money to be paid by Paypal gift to me by 6pm on Friday 24th October 2014. This allows me to buy the right number of tickets before the 7.30pm deadline
- everyone who pays the £2 before the deadline gets an equal share if a substantial prize is won
- any wins of less than £100 are re-invested in the next Euromillions draw (Tuesday 28th October 2014). Wins above this amount and less than £1,000 will be paid via Paypal back to the address the entry came from
- if Friday's draw yields prizes of less than £100 and those funds are re-entered on Tuesday 28th Oct 2014 and they also yield prizes of less than £100 then the re-entry process will be repeated with each Euromillions draw until the fund is gone or until the fund is over £100 or £1,000, at which point it follows the other rules outlined here
- wins above £1,000 will be informed to members via their Paypal emails and bank transfer details sought
- number of entries limited to 150 PH members. This ensures that, should we be the only winners of the jackpot, everyone becomes a millionaire. Fairly pointless you might think, but it's a nice touch that I like
- you must be a PH member to participate (defined as: being registered with a PH account and having a PH username)
- if you forget to select the gift option (and therefore less than £2 reaches me), your contribution remains void until you pay the remaining balance! If I notice this, of course, I will endeavour to let you know before the 6pm Fri 24th deadline.
- if we win a prize above £1,000 then we will tick the 'no publicity' box. However, I can't prevent individual members posting about it here/telling their families/postmen/dogs and the story getting out. It wouldn't compromise your identity, though. I won't be sending the list of members to anyone.

I think that covers everything.

If you want to enter, send £2 VIA PAYPAL GIFT to paultait *AT* gmail.com. You also need to include your PH username, so I can track the entries. No need to include your bank details unless we get a big win that I'd need to transfer back, as identified above. Sending your £2 to my paypal account constitutes your acceptance of the rules I have proposed in this post with your digital signature.

If anyone thinks I'm desperate enough to run off with your 2 quid, then have a look at my email address. I've also in the past posted about my job - I teach English to secondary school kids in the Doncaster area. It wouldn't be too hard to find me! smile

For my own sake: I have already had a few goes on this Friday's draw as a private individual. However, these entries are all on my online account and dated/timed before this post, as all online lottery purchases are. This could be verified in the event that I win on my private entries. I will not be entering as a private individual apart from these tickets - i.e. no private entries after the time of this post.

Good luck to us all!

(feel free to post what car you'll be getting from the classifieds when we win!)

His post timed at 17:08 on 22 Oct 2014, since after today the posts won't have a time stamp on. (To verify the time between his 'own' tickets and the 'syndicate' tickets.)
Forgot about the time thing. Thank you smile

Bobby K please get in touch ASAP. You've sent an echeque payment (meaning I haven't received it and won't for 5-7 working days), left no PH username and the email address you sent it from has bounced back my reply!! You'll need to fix this quickly, as per the terms of the first post, if you want in.

Sending out other replies now.

All paid so far are in - only issue is Bobby K at the moment due to his echeque payment (which I haven't received, and won't do before the deadline and/or spaces are used up). The other chap who sent as regular payment (instead of friends/family) rectified his mistake earlier.

Right, I'm off to sleep. There are still 18 spaces left (Bobby K currently not included in the paid list).

Assuming this will slow down greatly overnight. If it happens to be over 150 then I'll just go by the timings in my Gmail and refund 151 and above.

Though it's more likely to hit during the day. As mentioned before, I teach, which means I'm unlikely to get a chance to check this - except perhaps at dinner, if I get 5 minutes. (That's lunch, for anyone south of the Watford Gap.)

Once I get chance, I'll obviously notify everyone in the thread/do replies, etc.

Only 6 left now!

Quite a large percentage of people enter without posting in the thread. If the next 6 post in the thread, please, that would help for all concerned!
