Bragging that your Paul's Boutique jacket is a real one.
Assuming somebody who works and has a new car must really be a DLA car.
I must be becoming an old git. I don't know what a Paul's jacket is without researching online, and I have no idea what a DLA car is.

When I was wearing my fake Rolex Submariner, purchased for £5 in Beijing, It looked so good I was never asked whether it was real.
Are you sure that was the reason? Nobody I know has ever been asked if their watch was real.
Quite sure.

When fake expensive watches first appeared in the early eighties, it was quite obvious that they were hookey.
Dodgy bracelet, 'Gold' peeling from the body, light as a feather etc.
I purchased many in the far east and was outed as a fake by many.

Over the years the quality improved, so much so that where derision was the default position, compliments were the order of the day.

My Submariner survived for many years until being replaced by a fake TAG Monaco, which is still going strong today.
I have never been asked about the authenticity of either of my watches. Is this something people actually do?
Yes. In the heady days of the 80s and 90s, when fake watches were at their zenith, everyones wrist was suspect.

No carpet, walls a mess, hideous arm/hand tattoos. Yep, this is the thread for such a combination.

I have been asked 'How much did you pay for your fake Rolex?' before, my answer of '£1900 including a bit of discount' shut the twunt up pretty quick though laugh

Is haggling for a discount a bit 'Council'?

DLA car is Motability. Imagine a Vauxhall Zafira and you've pretty much got it.

I must admit, for quite some time I kept seeing people wearing "Paul's Boutique" jackets & assumed it was a local market stall for chavs that had for some reason about 100 employees - all with red hair and facial piercings. I imagine most of the "Paul's Boutique" stuff I see is probably fake. Quite why you'd walk around with a jacket on that makes you look like an employee of a shop is beyond melaugh

I honestly thought that the Beastie Boys had somehow attracted teenage girls as fans when I first saw these jackets.
