How do lessor nations that don't drink tea actually function?
I think they pass the time learning to spell.Edit: damnit, my phone autocorrected "wil" a second time (after I'd already manually corrected it back) - seriously, how do people manage to misspell stuff?

Both the house one, and the work one are ste and are metal but with a plastic handle/turner.

At what large size or slow speed does a HGV's load need a police escort?
Just drove by a double wide caravan taking up 80% of a single carriage way A road, going at about 2 mph, everyone going the opposite direction had to pull right over and there was a long queue behind it.
There was an escort van but at what point,if any, would cops need to be involved?
And what authority do the escort van have to make people move over?
If I didn't want to jam my car into a hedge to allow them to pass, can they make me? And if they meet an HGV on the narrower twisty bits, there will be carnage!

Also there are different rules for notification periods too. Just a couple of examples.
It seems neither provide abnormal load escorts except where deemed necessary, e.g. certain STGO loads, or needs to be a contravention of a road traffic regulation or if specifically requested. If so it must be paid for and only provided using approved and paid for rest day overtime.
We get a lot of wide caravan transport round our way, and the norm seems to be that unless the transporter company have their own escorts then there is no escort vehicle on motorway and dual carriageway roads which is ok with the rules. As soon as they get to the single carriageway, they are met by an escort vehicle from the caravan dealer/ site who then takes them the rest of the way. If you meet them on the many single track roads, it's tough tit, you back up and ram your vehicle up a bank or into a field entrance. Sometimes the transporters doesn't wait for the escort vehicle down the single carriageway and with overhangs well above the legislation limit it makes for interesting encounters, especially as the buggers don't seem to slow down much.
As for those lovable caravan dwelling scamps, not unknown for them just to hitch up a 43x13 footer to the back of a pickup and motor slowly weaving down the road. Nobody ever says anything.
Watching the quite lovely Ms Konta play tennis at that there Wimbledon and always wondered what the army are doing there.
Noticed it for years now, I may have seen RAF peeps there as well. What gives? Is it a traditional thing? Does the LTA pay for them to be there or is it a voluntary freebie for the squaddies?
Seem to hang about in a formalish uniform acting like security when there's a break in play. I thought this was what G4S were paid handsomely for.

As a kid I always wondered why the BBC always listed the cartoon 'Top Cat' as 'Boss Cat'...
Now I know
"When the cartoon was shown on British television in the 1960s and 1970s the title was changed to Boss Cat because there was a brand of cat food named Top Cat. However, the theme song and show's dialogue remained unchanged and contained countless mentions of "Top Cat", making the title change pointless."

What might have happened if I refused to pull over though? I'm on MY side of the road so ,apart from me being lynched by the people stuck in the ensuing traffic jam, shirley they can't make me move!
And as for the Caravan Utilising Nomadic Travellers, of course no one does anything to them, regardless

Why is it every time I get a takeaway lamb/chicken curry from a restaurant, I feel full up after eating a few bites, there is only ever 5-6 pieces of meat at most.
I can make a kilo of lamb curry at home for two days and never feel full up!
Anyone notice that? What do they add.
