Find the nearest Stegosaurus. Or just put up with a Megasorearse.

Was/is Bruce Lee overrated. As an artist I'll agree very good but the rest of the bullst spouted about i raise a few eyebrows at.
Quite probably overrated as a fighter. I don't think he'd last long today in a MMA bout, even if he'd stayed in his twenties for the last forty years. smile
He was very quick, and he had a boxing background as well as kung fu. He would have done OK in MMA.

He boxed as a boy in HK, and rarely did any comps after that. The problem is that for every story attached to Lee there appears to be another version which isn't quite so shining. All I do know is that today's young MMA fighters are very good and possess a range of techniques Lee could only have dreamed about. I'm a Lau Gar Kung Fu black belt and 6 Degree Chinese Kickboxing black belt. I fought at national level 30 years ago but am under no illusions as to what would happen if I got in the ring with one of today's top MMA fighters.biggrin

He would certainly need to develop a ground game... or else, when his opponent rushes in for a take-down, do a quick knee to the face..! or elbow to the top of the head. Oops, that is illegal in MMA wink

I am a year 2 yellow belt novice no-nothing at Combat Hapkido...

We are the only animals that wear clothes. It doesn't really matter to a cow how stty its arse is if it isn't going to leave skidmarks.

That said, having never owned pets, do you end up with brown kisses on the carpet if your dog or cat decides to sit with its arse on the floor?
As I think has been discussed on this thread ( or previous iterations of it) Cats and dogs have been blessed through evolution with the pinnacle of crimping off Technology. It must be like a camera shutter as there is hardly ever any residue.
As evolution provided dogs with super sensitive noses, perhaps it was needed to avoid leaving a scent trail in the air that other dogs could smell, keeping them out of trouble.
Or maybe bhes just don't want to get doggy styled by a stty-arsed mongrel.

No one is really sure. We have a pretty good understanding of what happens when you sleep - mainly brain related stuff such as memory processing and learning, but also restorative processes in the rest of the body, but as to why you need to sleep to do these things it's not clear.

I believe the most credible ideas at the moment suggest that some of the changes the brain needs to make can only happen when you are asleep, but again who knows why this is the case.

I remember reading an interview years ago with some retiring academic specialising in sleep and he said that despite a lifetime of work the only certain reason he knew for people sleeping was they got sleepy...

All this has made me very tired. Off to bed I think!

I'll have a word with my cat. He seems to be an expert in the subject.

Managed to steal a good living out of that then, didn't he!?
An academic, spent his whole career to find out very little more than average Joe was already fully aware of.

I remember listening to a radio interview once with a research student who had spent years studying why cows laid down, and if they really knew that rain was coming. He said that after all the work the best reason he could come up with is that their legs got tired.

So why do they (yes Katy ,I mean you) roll in fox poo? Doesn't seem a smart hunting strategy masking your own scent by smelling of another predator.

Perhaps somebody could explain to me why, if dogs have a sense of smell a thousand or more times as sensitive as man's, they insist on sticking their noses right up the backsides of their fellow creatures? Surely they should be able to get all the information they want from the other side of the street?

I drive past really expensive houses (in various places in the country) and wonder just what people do to be able to afford them.
I certainly took a wrong turn somewhere. There's a lot easier money to be made elsewhere.
