Why is it that people with old injuries/dodgy joints/metal pins say that it hurts more when it's damp? I get maybe when it's really cold, but how can the damp affect something that's sealed inside the body. Does it do it when it's warm and damp ie humid in tropical places, or is it just that cool damp weather makes us feel the cold more so it's really just the temperature that affects it?
Quoted as I'd like to know that too.

Old breaks in toes and knee definitely ache more in cold and damp. To the extent that for the knee in below zero I have to wear long undercrackers, ie thermal long john base layer, which extra claddiing can lead to betty swollocks, too much information, sorry.
You want some leg warmers, FiF! Basically long johns without the crotch bit.
Leg warmers! Isn't that a bit Louie Spence? Does a twirl while picking up dog poop!

In light of all the stringent emissions targets and stuff in London, particularly for commercial vehicles, how can Pimlico plumbers get away with running a load of T4 Transporters? Can’t tell the age of them because most of them have private plates but there’s no way a T4 could meet Euro 6 emissions regs is there?
They cheat.

I thought everyone knew that. It was big news. smile
Link? I thought there might be some skullduggery going on. I recently saw what was clearly an ‘80’s transit rocking a 60 plate

Why do just the top three get a podium place?

You see it in F1, Olympics, etc etc but where did the idea of three medal positions get traction?

Just back from holiday.

The the ePassport scanners that you have to stare into at security check your image against the one in your passport or one saved back at HQ?
On re-entry to the UK, does the scan check against the original image submission or the one you made on exit?

Just wondering as I am now sporting some fine facial hair which is not featured in my passport photo.
All scans worked btw, no issues!
FWIW these systems are either a human eyeballing you and your photo from your passport, or a face measurement system which is fairly impervious to the odd bit of bum fluff.

Can a person who walks around with their mouth hanging open all the time be persuaded to close it? Can you train your face?

How does my FitBit know I've gone to bed?

How does it differentiate between me slobbed out in front of the telly and laying in my bed?
Would assume it's because your pulse is lower when asleep.

It knows when you're riding a bike too somehow.

rofl

Well there's nothing to stop you picking up a rainbow striped pair to wear with a pair of hot pants if that's your thing, but the sort athletes use are usually black, snug, and invisible under trousers.

I was told by my consultant that the damaged areas in the joint(s) don't expand and contract at the same rate as the healthy parts during the change in temperature.
My various knackered bits are worse when I have been out on cold damp days then into a warm car or room .

In the Olympics it was originally only the winner in Ancient Greece. https://www.quora.com/Why-do-the-Olympics-award-me...

Why are there so many varieties of Colgate toothpaste? There seems to be around 30 odd. How are we supposed to know which one is best?

All the manufacturers are at it. I use Sensodyne and don't think I've ever had the same product twice.

Drives me mad.

Just dangling there? I'm surprised rabbits don't fall out and we must have lost a few miners that went too deep
