Subscription based collector magazines.... Having seen this advert it got me wondering has anyone ever bothered to complete one of these or something similar or do they hope that you get fed up of waiting and stop sending the issues out?

You are looking at spending just under £1200 for that!
Also I seem to remember a R/C Subaru which was ££££ but you could buy the entire car off the internet for a couple of hundred quid.
I gather they stop selling them in shops and become subscription only after a time.http://www.buildtheroutemaster.com

What kind of retard buys them though who knows. It's such a waste of money when as you say you can spend even half and get something equally good

Pink Floyd? You couldn't have a more cut glass, British public schoolboy enunciation if you tried.
Are you sure? "Excuse me teacher would you mind awfully not picking on those pupils" doesn't sound like the Pink Floyd lyrics I heard.Chestrockwell said:
Why do all singers sing in an American accent, English Icelandic or....Spanish, all seem to sing in an American accent

They don't.
Well, they do....they say certain words in an American accent, from pink floyd to George Michael to little mixI think the generic "Americaness" we hear is due to the elongation of vowels and soft "R" in modern singing.
Some artists counter it in different ways with their own affectations that we can copy to lesser or greater degrees.

Most English/British singers DO sing in an American accent. There’s obviously going to be some that don’t, but try singing these in English accent;
Saturday nights alright for fighting (Elton John)
Someone like you (Adele)
Any OneDirection song
Angels (Robbie Williams)
Any Gary Barlow song
Dancing In The Street (Bowie OR Jaggers bits)
The only bands I can think of where most songs are in an english accent are Queen and The Proclaimers.
Most songs sound better with an American accent.

Can think of loads that don't sing with an American accent though. How about Sex Pistols?

If you listen to American singers speaking, they lose their regional accent when they sing, too.

Thank you, that’s what I mean, the R part, I’ll give a pink floyd example, the verse in the first song of dark side of the moon, sounds more like an American singing than an English man. I mention Icelandic as Bjork, sounds perfect American yet she has an accent when she talks....Seal is another example.I think the generic "Americaness" we hear is due to the elongation of vowels and soft "R" in modern singing.

It’s just something I’ve always wondered!
